Very good curry and teryaki 😊 - Edit
We did have a great red curry and vegan teryaki with tofu. We loved it and will definately try to go back again. The restaurant was cosy and modern ☺️

Nice staff and nearly every dish available with tofu as a vegan version. We had vegetables with peanut sauce and a spicy chili sauce. Both were fine.

Wir hatten veganes Sushi, Sommerrollen und zwei Hauptgerichte. Geschmacklich war alles sehr gut, bis auf eines der Hauptgerichte, was aber Geschmackssache ist und nichts mit der Qualität des Essens zu tun hat. Was allerdings auffiel war, dass die MitarbeiterInnen etwas überfordert waren. Wir haben 1,5 Stunden auf unsere Hauptgerichte gewartet und wir hatten den Eindruck, dass die Bestellung nicht ganz korrekt aufgenommen wurde. Das Restaurant war völlig ausgebucht und es ist schwer, dort einen Tisch zu bekommen. Es ist also verständlich, dass die Service Kräfte gestresst sind. Aber trotzdem wäre es wünschenswert, wenn die Organisation besser wäre.

Read moreWir hatten einen tollen Abend im Kyodai :). Zwar hatten wir keine Reservierung, dennoch wurde für uns ein Platz gefunden. Auf Nachfrage erfuhr ich, dass viel mehr Gerichte vegan sind, als die, die explizit als vegan ausgezeichnet sind. Dadurch hatten wir eine große Auswahl an Hauptgerichten. Nach längerem Überlegen entschied sich meine Freundin für Pak Choi mit Shitake und ich entschied mich für das Rote Curry mit Tofu (durfte auch anmerken, dass ich es nicht ganz so scharf wollte ;)). Wir bestellten außerdem beide die Maracuja-Limonade, sehr lecker! Das Essen kam schnell und schmeckte ausgezeichnet. Der Service war ausgesprochen freundlich. Absolut Empfehlung meinerseits!

We had a great evening at Kyodai :). We didn't have a reservation, but they still found a place for us. When I asked, I was told that many more dishes are vegan than only those explicitly labelled as vegan. This gave us a wide choice of main courses. After thinking about it for a while, my friend ordered the pak choi with shitake and I went for the red curry with tofu (was also allowed to note that I didn't want it super spicy ;)). We also both ordered the passion fruit lemonade, very tasty! The food came quickly and tasted excellent. The service was very friendly. Absolutely recommend!

We hadn’t booked but they were very accommodating. Our waiter Kenneth spoke perfect English having spent 18 months in the US. He made us feel really welcome and made the menu options easy to order.

Our experience at Kyodai would have been fine if it wasn’t for their lack of knowledge and complete disregard for customer health and safety. The way my situation was handled was an absolute shambles to say the least.
Read moreAfter making the restaurant aware that I am a nut allergy sufferer, and to ensure no nuts were present on any of the meals we ordered, we realised there were peanuts sprinkled on top of my partner’s dish. This was after I had already tasted some, thankfully from the bottom of the bowl. What could have been a complete disaster and trip to the hospital, was thankfully averted. The staff were apologetic, moved us to a better seat and offered free dessert. Mistakes happen and we were happy with their efforts to make things right.
However, the dessert offered to us in an attempt to correct things, then contained walnuts which I did eat. I can accept the first mistake, but the second was just utter incompetence and carelessness. As dramatic as it sounds, we’re dealing with life and death here. The restaurant didn’t seem to understand this. And to top it all off, all they could offer was a free round of drinks, which isn’t good enough. Things like this completely ruin your whole night, waiting and wondering if a bad reaction is going to happen, if you’re going to need to administer an epipen, if you’re going to need to be rushed into hospital.
DO NOT eat here if you’re an allergy sufferer, especially as a nut allergy sufferer.

Read moreEs gibt dort Mittagsmenüs, die allerdings nicht auf der Karte draussen angeschrieben sind. Der Kellner wusste, welche Gerichte vegan sind und auch die Vorspeise (Frühlingsrollen) konnten vegan serviert werden.
Sowohl die Frühlingsrollen als auch die Hauptspeise (Reisnudeln mit Gemüse und Tofu) waren sehr lecker und wurden mit frischen Kräutern serviert. Die Portion reichte auch noch für mein Abendessen.
Ich komme wieder!

it's better to have a reservation though...

We were craving some vietnamese food (again) and tried this place. It was okay, but not more. We had some maki (which we didn't enjoy, the rice wasn't nice and the sauce was way to sweet), a saté sauce dish (which didn't taste like peanut) and a tofu dish with beans (which didn't contain tofu). All in all okay but really nothing we enjoyed a ton.

The food at Kyodai was as delicious as the interior was cozy. We had veganized summer rolls and mango curry with tofu. The curry was spicy even though it was not marked as such but tasty nevertheless. The restaurant is also very dog-friendly if they do not bark.
