Friendly, tasty vegan options

Very friendly staff and good service. Lots of vegan and vegetarian options on the menu. The potato bonda, saag aloo, and malabar paratha were particularly good.

There was no hidden 10% service charge on the bill which old reviews mention.

Vast Vegan Menu

Krishnas Inn is a great place to eat, the vegan menu has delightful dishes from Kerala, which is full of flavours. Avial with assorted veggies including some exotic veggie's was my highlight. Beware you may get a mooringa a veggi that looks like okra but is not. I had this as part of the thali which came with a number of other dishes, a soup and a desert. Overall great experience, my partner agrees.. thank you krishnas

Pros: Great Vegan Variety, Full of flavours and tasty, Staff knowledgeable and helped with menu

Never Again

I eat vegan food because I am allergic to dairy, egg and shelfish (I have an anaphylaxis allergy to shelfish aka my throat closes over why I eat it). I was immediately disappointed with this restaurant as the staff were rude, the atmosphere was unpleasant and the service was very slow (took 1hour and a half to be served). Things got worse when my supposedly vegan food arrived but had shellfish in it - I soon spent the evening in A&E fearing for my life. When I went in the next day to politely asked what had been put in my food (in case I reacted to a new allergen) the owner treated me unkindly and told me the allergy was my fault.

Never again will I support this business owner and I do not reccomend this place for anyone

Cons: Not actually vegan, food wrongly labelle, Slow, Unpleasant atmosphere and staff

Nice food, small portions

I liked that there were curries on the menu that you don't see in your standard Indian (it's South Indian rather than the more common North...), there were dishes with interesting ingredients like okra, mango and banana. I actually can't remember which dish I chose, but it was very tasty. However, I felt the portion sizes were on the small side (but I am a bit of a piggy), and the atmosphere in the place wasn't great; the staff weren't that friendly and it felt a bit cramped and dingy. All in all it wasn't a bad place, but there are so many Indian restaurants in Bristol, I probably wouldn't choose to come back here again...

Pros: Tasty food, unusual, interesting dishes

Cons: small portions, not great atmosphere

authentic

This is the most indian place in Bristol, very good food for a very good price. They never used to automatically add on 10% service charge without saying though, thats a new thing and if it happens to me next time I go, i wont be going back.

Pros: Excellant food, good value, the real thing

Check Your Bill!

I'd endorse everything that previous reviewers have said about this South Indian restaurant. However, you need to be aware that they add 10% service to your total - without itemising it in any way. So it is only when you break down the bill you'll realise that your total is 10% more than it should be and there is no clue why. No words "10 Service" and no amount in the column. This is dishonest and misleading and probably results in them getting a hefty 20% tip. I've always added service without realising they've included it an a very underhand and hidden manner. I asked the waitor who became somewhat sheepish saying his boss told them to do it. I like the food but won't be going back.
