Super lunch spot!

Kopi offered many vegan options and the ability to alter others to make vegan. Wait staff was super friendly

Pros: Nice outdoor seating

Just.. don’t

I wished I’d checked the un-rave reviews here, before spending money at Kopi Cafè… It really is as bad as they say. I’ll make it short and sweet:

First: Menu items are not marked whatsoever for vegans, nor vegetarians. Close to impossible to tell, and staff are confused and unenthusiastic about which orders can be made vegan.

Now, the food: it really amazes me, truly, how businesses like these serve food of this abysmal standard with a straight face. From the owners to the “chefs” to the waiters. That no one in that establishment has the authenticity to let someone from the management know that the “food” here is actually produce and other products that are rather heated and mixed together, than cooked per se. Tofu scramble was laughable, panini actually disgusting, their cakes tasted like margarine, sugar and more sugar, and their smoothies like candy. Microwaved, under-seasoned and tasteless, but also directly off-putting.
Save yourself the time and money, and just.. don’t.

Pros: None

Cons: Everything edible

Out of Touch

I've eaten here a few times, but it's so difficult to figure out what can be made vegan (and what will be left on it when you do) that it feels like it's not worth the effort. I have gotten 2 sandwiches, which were tasty, but not worth the hassle of ordering here.
I live in the neighborhood and wanted to support a local business, so during COVID I reached out to the restaurant via social media, explaining that their menu made it difficult to order vegan from there, despite the line on their website home page "Mostly vegetarian. Vegan and gluten free friendly."
They responded with a long description of what you could do to various menu items to make them vegan, that I should come in and ask in person, and didn't respond to my request that they label vegan (or vegetarian) items on their menu.
Anyone who has been vegan for a while knows what a hassle and crap shoot it is to order using the 'ask the server' method - you never know if that server understands what vegan is, knows all the ingredients of all the menu items well enough to check for the right things. On top of that, ordering in person or on the phone is stressful for most of us neuro-diverse folks, so if I can't order online, I try to already know what I want.

Good For Drinks

Delicious drinks with a good coffee and tea selection. Food is alright, but not the best vegan meal to be found in Andersonville. No wifi here.

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Extensive drink list, Weird, fun atmosphere

Variable

Limited options for vegans. Most baked goods that are vegan are gf as well. Once got the carrot cake and it was so stale and dry that I sent it back. Mexican hot chocolate is good and can be made with soy milk. Pleasant chill atmosphere.

Everything was microwaved

Really disappointed with the breakfast here. We got the vegan tofu scramble and vegetarian breakfast burrito, which was some of the worst food I have ever paid for. The tofu scramble was plain cubes of tofu (no scramble), canned tomatoes, and steamed broccoli. The breakfast burrito had canned refried beans and steamed eggs. Everything on the menu lists "steamed broccoli, steamed eggs, etc" because they are microwaved. Overall a very negative food experience, but the service was great and the people there were kind.

Pros: Nice people, Cozy ambiance

Cons: Microwaved food, Overpriced, Not fresh

I love kopi

I am a regular at kopi. I love the atmosphere and location and the food! It is true that they don't have a ton of vegan options, however, I could eat the This is not an Italian Beef Sandwich every single day because it is that good, so I really don't mind. They also have a nice selection of vegan desserts.

Many options for vegetarians, limited for vegans.

Kopi Travelers Café is a good place to go if you're a vegetarian, but if you're vegan, there very limited options. My first impression was that this place is a typical cafe and coffee house, what was interesting is that they had a mini store inside filled with travelers stuff and souvenirs. So I decided to get the bagel with hummus and veggies. Overall my meal was good and I loved how garlicky the hummus was. I wish they had more vegan options; I may be back if I'm in the area again.
