As a nice finale we could barbecue moshi as a desert on our table

Overpriced - Edit
The food was ok, and came quickly. But it's the most expensive meal I've had in Japan by a long way, and the least good. Portions were small for the high price. Also the expensive 770yen coffee turned out to just be instant coffee which was quite shocking, I've never seen that in a restaurant before.

Nice little spot - Edit
We tried two of the set meals of the day - karaage and Japanese curry and shared. The side dishes and mains were all great. Nice little spot, despite hearing trains rumbling overhead.

Tasty and cosy vegan restaurant - Edit
I enjoyed this place a lot! It wasn’t crowded at all when I visited (weekday lunchtime). I was served quickly and food didn’t take long. I had the karaage set, which was delicious. Not too much food, so best for a lighter lunch. Will definitely be back. I speak some Japanese and ordered in Japanese, but there was an English menu!

Overestimated - Edit
We had a reservation only to be treated unkindly at the end.
Read moreThere were a few sets to choose from that sounded very promising. When we placed our order we were first given the wrong drink, we politely replied it was the wrong one the waitress behaved in a derogatory manner.
After 20 minutes the set came to the table, unfortunately it was neither tasty or enjoyable.
For such a price, I would expect that.
Cons: Pricey, Loud

Disappointment - Edit
Over priced, portions seemed big, but it is just because of the serving (everything separated on different plates)… also the service was bad, the lady printed the receipt without asking if I wanted to order something more or whether I liked the dish… (it was 30 mins before closing and maybe 20 mins before I got my food). I would not come back

Delicious food with delightful service - Edit
Fantastic food… Our party of 3 (a vegan, a pescatarian and a meat eater) all ate a different set menus and loved it all. Despite feeling very full, we didn’t want to miss out on the Matcha tofu ice cream, and of course loved that too. It closes at 7.30pm so get there early so you can linger on the tastes. It’s located next to an amazing store which sells specialist food products so build in some time for that too

A bit hidden of a place, the set meals are tasty and very traditional. Good variety of dishes. They have deserts and grilling the dango ourselves was fun.

Hidden gem - Edit
My japanese friend brought me here and I had to come back for second time because the food was so amazing. The restaurant is located inside a delicacy store close to Akihabara station so it was a bit hard to find.

(Updated Feb 2025)
Read moreI liked the food this time and travelling with a 5 years old was easy to give him some ramen for dinner.
This time the food was really good, they don’t force you to buy a drink.
The food here was tasty but for me wasn't that special. Maybe I was expecting something different.
You have to purchase a drink with your meal, which is not right, in my opinion.
The portions seems small but they were enough for dinner (the large plate) and miso and rice are free to refill.
Not cheep, so I don't think will be back.

Veggies! - Edit
Greasy but more vegetables than anyplace we've seen. We were craving something besides dried fruit and granola bars while being cooped up in the hotel room sick. 🤧

We ended up eating here twice (the 2nd time after just missing last order at Cafe Tarot). It's relatively simple but we thought it was tasty and reasonably priced. I'd return for sure if I was in the area

Nice & simple lunch - Edit
We found the place easily with Google Maps, I thought it would be downstairs/underground after reading “under the train lines” - but it’s actually on ground level, near the entrance to the Chabara Shopping Mall. We arrived at midday on a weekday and there were lots of tables.
Read moreMy partner and I both had the karaage set meal for ¥1430 each. It was nothing mind blowing, but a simple, tasty, traditional meal. Included soy meat karaage with mayo, salad, brown sticky rice, pickled veg, pickled ginger, and miso soup. The big chunks of karaage were crunchy and yum.
Satisfying lunch while we explored the arcades and shops of Akihabara area 😌 #Veganuary
Pros: affordable & tasty set meal, quick service , clean and tidy restaurant
