Don’t take my Koda-chrome away - Edit
Had a lovely tempeh Reuben here packed with succulent tempeh and sauerkraut before heading off to see Scarborough Athletic smash Chester FC 3-1 in the FA Cup. Relaxed atmosphere, vegan friendly and a very pleasant surprise to see a good place like this in Scarborough.

Love it here 💚 - Edit
Lovely lunch on my birthday 💚✨
Read moreWe both had the tempeh Krampus on the last day of the festive menu. Really lovely facon flavoured tempeh in a toasted doorstep sandwich with cranberry sauce & vegan cheeses, with a dipping hot gravy. 🤤
My cake of choice here is the Bakewell tart, which I never liked until I tried theirs! A friend used to buy me these as a treat on her way to work sometimes. It's heavenly & melts in the mouth!
Koda is marked as 'veggie', but everything is vegan except a while ago they started offering cow's milk as an option. I'm allergic to chocolate, & Koda do a nice selection of non choc vegan cakes which is a delight for me as almost everywhere we go only offers vegan brownies, chocolate cake or the inevitable flapjack.
We were headed to Love Brew today to find it closed, but Koda didn't disappoint. 🥰☕🍰🥪💚🙏🏽✨
Pros: Safely vegan 💚, Helpful staff, comfortable vibe & dog friendly, Great cakes & tasty food!💚
Cons: I find the seats a little low down to the tables

Delicious vegan cafe - Edit
I love the staff and the food. Everyone there is very kind.
Read moreOn the menu, the food descriptions sound quite basic but they are AMAZING. The menu does not do it justice. It tastes so good, even the granola bowl.
Pros: Delicious food, The staff, Location (near the station)

Speciality coffee ❤️☕ - Edit
Apart from being a fully vegan cafe in terms of food / deserts ( I believe they might have cow's milk for coffee) being a speciality coffee place raises it to higher grounds 😊 They have a choice of 3 guest beans on top of their main beans. Nice place 😊

Nice airy cafe near train station. Vegetarian not vegan - Edit
Particularly good if you like coffee. Staff were very nice too. A nice airy cafe close to train station. Vegetarian but there were vegan options. More snacks really than full meals but ours was really tasty. Had cakes too.

Almost everything is vegan! - Edit
Very cute cafe conveniently located across from the train station. Great selection of pastries, food, and drinks. We had lattes, a cheese toastie, and the tempeh benedict, all of which were delicious.
Read moreMost importantly, ALMOST EVERYTHING IS VEGAN except they have dairy milk for coffee. We almost missed this place because we don't usually bother with cafes that are just labeled Vegetarian as we don't expect them to have vegan food options. Glad we found it though!
Pros: many delicious vegan options, cute space and friendly staff, convenient location across from train station
Cons: almost missed it because they serve dairy milk

Modern cafe offering innovative plant-based food - Edit
Modern cafe with art displayed around the walls. The staff were welcoming and happy to help with any issues regarding orders.
Read moreI found the menu to be concise but everything was creative, i.e. not what you would normally find in a cafe. Such as the tempeh benedict and a tempeh caesar salad. They also offer kombucha, as well as speciality coffees. There is an emphasis on sourcing ingredients locally, especially the ground coffee. I would come back again, as I liked the freshness and trying something unusual. Excellent value for money.
One point to note is that if you get there after the lunch rush many of the menu items will be unavailable.
Pros: Creativity , Freshness, Value for money
Cons: Menu items being unavailable due to popularity

Great vegan find in Scarborough - Edit
Brilliant service and warm friendly welcome. Small menu but all vegan and very tasty. I had the Kimcheese toastie and my husband had the tempeh Benedict. Substantial meal and good value for money. We also had the biscoff matcha latte which was also delicious. Great to have a completely vegan cafe in Scarborough.

Koda - Edit
Popped in quickly for cake and coffee to takeaway. The chai latte was delicious, as was the almond croissant. Look forward to visiting again to try some of the food menu. Service could’ve been a bit friendlier. Dog friendly cafe.

Cheese toastie was really good as was the oat flat white and croissant. The only thing that let it down for me was the special drink hedgerow sour, neither of us could drink it… other than that nice experience

Really enjoyed my meal - Edit
I visited for the first time a few weeks ago and I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. I like the fact that the menu items are different to what other places offer for vegans (sweet potato and chickpea curry, I'm looking at you).

Such a good find! - Edit
So glad we came across Koda on a recent day out in Scarborough. They had a great selection of vegan savoury options on the menu and all of the cakes in the display cabinet were vegan. Opted for the Tempeh Reuben and a vegan blondie. Both were delicious! Can’t wait to go again! #Veganuary

Lucky find! - Edit
What a great place, found by chance when the 2 listed vegan café s in Scarborough were both closed. The menu is small, the kitchen is tiny, but the choices were interesting. We ordered Tempeh Reuben and Tempeh Focaccia - both of which were tasty and filling. The choice of speciality coffees and teas was really good and we enjoyed ruby oolong tea and their no. 3 coffee. Even the music was good - classic rock, pop etc

All vegan and all lovely - Edit
Went in for brunch. The kitchen is tiny so the menu is limited, but it packs a lot in!
Read moreWe opted for the carrot and cream cheese bagel and the coronation chickpea wrap.
The bagel was refreshing and filling - with dill cream "cheese" and plenty of filling. A super fresh side salad with delicious slaw was the perfect accompaniment.
Coronation chickpea seems an odd choice for brunch but it worked. Any spice is balanced out with fruit and (I think) mango chutney.
We had an oat latte - the coffee here is outstanding - and a hibiscus tea. Something I wish we saw more of in the UK!
In terms of ambiance, they have the balance exactly right, with familiar, classic music playing and a myriad of ages in the clientele.
We finished with a cherry bakewell blondie.
This place needs to be on your list to visit! Easy to find near the train station and well worth the wander from the seafront.

Such a relaxing place - Edit
This is the most relaxing cafe ever! Cool music, artwork on the walls, and spacious interior. It's so nice to just pop in here for a drink and a cake (amazing cakes and lots to choose from) and/or a couple of slices of toast and Marmite, and because there's plenty of space between the tables, it never feels crowded, even when it's full.
Read moreFriendly and helpful start and an almost 100% vegan kitchen. I'm sorry they still offer the option of cows' milk but (apart from that) I love this place.
Pros: Beautiful spacious decor, Relaxing atmosphere, Amazing cakes
Cons: Dislike the fact that they still offer cows' milk
