Eat Me! Oooooohhhh yesss - Edit
If you want a window seat book in advance. Lots of space and not over crowded like some places in Scarborough. A super menu with lots of vegan options to choose from too.
Read moreRoti Cania £6. Having eaten this in India and Bangladesh as a staple breakfast for months on end, I’d say it tasted as good, which is amazing because it usually has egg, butter and condensed milk in it. This vegan version was flaky on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside with a buttery taste. The sauce was really good but a thick curry dal would have been better as it sticks better than a runny sauce. With two rotis, it was as great sharing plate.
EMC Baked Vegan Mac’N’Cheese £12.50 Honestly, we thought they screwed up and given us real cheese. It looked too cheesy, crispy too but melted perfectly with oil exuding from it and stringy with a cheesy aroma. It was the best vegan mac’n’cheese we’ve had. They use a mixture of vegan cheeses with a runny one inside mixed with engevita, then scheese on top. Faultless.
Spicy Asian Vegan Donburi Rice Bowl £13. A large bowl. Really nice and I like spice but it overpowered me and my partner who likes a Phall! It wasn’t a hidden depth of spice in the mouth which is tolerable, but a nasty sting to the tip of the tongue with dissipated after 10 mins. I think it was from the hot Paprika powder scattered all over it. It tasted good but too harsh.
Would I recommend. Certainly. Scarborough hasn’t enough places with good vegan options and ‘Eat Me’ would fit into any city.
Would I go back. Yes, we’re going to go back this weekend.
Pros: Vegan options in every section of the menu, Staff were lovely , Really tasty food

Been looking for a while for a good katsu - Edit
I'm back to Scarborough for the first time this year so I decided to try some new places, and I found this one on here. One minute away from the train station, really convenient, especially when I was so hungry after a long journey.
Read moreI had tofu katsu and gyozas. The katsu was excellent, the rice hada a great combination of spices that gave it a taste I never tried before, and the tofu's texture and taste were also really good. I'd definitely come here again for the curry.
Pros: Yummy katsu curry, Decent prices , Good location

Lots more choice than before & very tasty :) - Edit
Eat Me at the Stephen Joseph Theatre for 4 this evening. We tried 3 different dishes; the Bento Box, Burrito Bowls x2 & the Daily Dahl all verdicts were a resounding "Delish!". I was really pleased to see the *much* wider variety of vegan options than we'd had on previous visits, I suspect due to them properly moving into the SJT restaurant, rather than the more temporary arrangement over the Covid period.

Pros: Lotsof vegan options, spacious & interesting venu

Not difficult to find- I think it’s recently moved and is now inside the Stephen Joseph Theatre. Loads of vegan options. We had quesadillas and a burger, both with great chips and coleslaw. Very tasty and big portions.

Amazing mains - Edit
Spoilt for choice for vegan mains, not so great on desserts. Not easy at some points to get attention from staff, but otherwise service was good. Trickier than expected to find somewhere for dinner with interesting vegan options, wasn't disappointed by the menu (apart from desserts). Good cocktail menu, too.

Nice, Central - Edit
Nutty burger nice (and big enough to be filling), chips that come with it delicious. The donburi tofu satay is nice but if you've not a sweet tooth then avoid, donburi tofu katsu is ok, on strong side, not sweet at all. Both dishes hammered by the Thai green tofu dish on specials board however which is excellent though twice as spicy as it needs to be. Ramen nice also. Too full for dessert. Staff lovely. Needs vegan options on kids menu. Also original venue is around corner and needs a sign on it, us non locals have no idea what SJT is.

Nice place to eat - Edit
The tofu green curry and tofu satay tin plates are simple, healthy and filling meals. Quite a good selection of vegan meals but often only 1 desert if it’s not already sold out. Book well in advance. Lovely staff.

Delicious - Edit
They’ve made vegan options for a lot of the menu which means a lot of choice. The veggie breakfast is delicious and a bit out of the ordinary with the “bubble” potato side.

Lovely cafe, with good vegan options. - Edit
This is a lovely cafe, in a quiet back street behind the theatre. Worth booking, but we managed to get a table by turning up at 5pm.
Read moreThe roti side dish makes an excellent starter, and the tofu ramen and veggie "balls" were both good. A nice selection of drinks, too. And we took away a nice piece of lemon and pecan sponge cake: it's nice to be able to get a vegan cake that's not flapjack!
Staff were lovely, too.
Pros: Quiet location in the centre of town., Good food., Lovely staff.

Disappointing - Edit
We read some good reviews of the place before going but were a bit disappointed. The food was nice but my boyfriend ordered a vegetarian burger but asked for it to be vegan and then it came with non-vegan coleslaw.

Discovered this cafe today and am gutted I didn't find it earlier! Delicious food, gorgeous decor, cosy atmosphere and really friendly staff who will go out of their way to help. Lots of meat, vegetarian and vegan options available, I had the fried tofu ramen which was just incredible. So so good. Food was well presented as well, I couldn't stop myself having a nosey at what others were being served as everything looked so exciting! I had a delicious vegan raspberry ripple cake too - yum. Very modest prices and overall a lovely experience. Would definitely recommend.

Eat Me - don't mind if I do! - Edit
After finding Eat Me on Happy Cow, we paid it a visit. It was very busy when we arrived and as we had our dogs with us, we asked if they did take away - happily, they did!
Read moreThey did tell us that they were dog friendly and we could have brought our dogs in with us (had it been quieter we gladly would have).
The staff were very friendly and knowledgable about the vegan options. There were several options marked veggie or vegan, including green curries etc, however I did not get a good look at the menu as we were standing on the pavement with our two hooligans (dogs) choosing food which can be eaten without cutlery!
My partner chose a mushroom and haloumi burger with chips, salad and homeslaw (potato salad) and could not stop raving about it for the rest of our holiday in Yorkshire. I went for the vegan veggie burger, without slaw, with chips and salad - it really was delicious and a huge portion.
I would definitely eat here again, it was a good substitute for Calf Cafe which was not open that day.
I would potentially say it was pricey however the prices seemed in keeping with the surrounding area.
The takeaway packaging consisted of cardboard cartons, brown paper bag, tin foil and compostable wooden cutlery.

Great cafe, loads of vegan options! - Edit
Had such a great breakfast here today, the food was amazing. I had the veggie breakfast with vegan butter on toast, and extra potatoes instead of egg. It was delicious! Could also have had vegan sausage sandwich, of creamed mushrooms on toast, of which they do a vegan version. Had a flip through the lunch menu, loads of choice, vegan nut burger, sweet potato falafel wrap, hummus and carrot sandwhich... And a few more I can't remember! Also one of them was available with vegan aoli. The staff were so friendly and helpful too. :) definitely recommend

Smiling like a Cheshire cat - Edit
Eat Me was an accidental find as I was aiming for Calf, the vegan restaurant in Scarborough only to find it is not open every day. Eat Me has a small Alice in Wonderland theme going on. A nice atmosphere with friendly staff. I was so happy to see many vegan options and it turns out one of the managers is vegan so likes to discover and try new things. I had the ramen with deep fried tofu and bok choi which had a nice sauce and noodles. I didn't see the other options as I was fixated on having ramen and was super hungry after walking about too long but there quite a few things marked up. Unfortunately whilst staff said they sometimes do vegan cakes non were available when I visited.
Read morePros: Lots of choice, Friendly staff, Central location
Cons: No vegan deserts available at the time I went so d
