This restaurant is situated in a little parade of restaurants on a quiet street. The seating is outdoors (but sheltered and hearted for winter). The food was great quality and inexpensive.

Well made, fresh food, but not top vegan thai - Edit
I visited Kindness Cafe for the first time a few weeks ago, and enjoyed the meals, particularly appreciating their freshness, texture of vegetables and use of herbs. But I found the flavours heavy on sweet soy sauce rather than trying to mimic the richer Thai flavours of oyster sauce or fish sauce.
Read moreI was also disappointed with the predominance of dishes very low in protein, which is mostly present in tofu or egg. Next time I will pay more attention to the "Add $1.50 for tofu" for most interesting dishes.
Pros: vegetables fresh and great texture, good value
Cons: low on protein, bland sauces

I have been hanging out to try Kindness Cafe and it did not dissapoint, we arrived right on closing time and placed a very large takeaway order and they were more than happy for us to do so. Everything we ordered was AMAZING! The corn fritters and the satay sauce they serve with thier tofu were OUT OF THIS WORLD! So good, i wished i lived in Sydney just for this place.

One of the best plant based restaurants I’ve ever been to. We ordered a couple of starters, mains and desserts and everything tasted amazing. The service was top notch, too. Don’t miss out on this one!

Kindness Café is the perfect name - Edit
My husband and I are in Sydney for our honeymoon and had dinner here tonight. From receiving the friendliest of greetings from the sweetest, most enthusiastic waitress to our fantastic meal to sitting outside, we loved everything about it! We shared an order of super fresh spring rolls that had great sauces to accompany them (probably the best peanut sauce we've ever had) as an appetizer. For our main courses we shared the green curry and the basil stir fry, both with tofu. We didn't know you could BYOB, so if we're able to make it there again, we would likely do that. I would definitely recommend this fantastic place to any vegan, vegetarian or any human who likes to eat fresh, flavorful, delicious food!

delicious and simple Thai - Edit
I am usually not the biggest fan of Thai food but Kindness Cafe know how to make a dish full of flavour. Every meal I've had there has been amazing and filling. I especially recommend the corn fritters as an entree, they're only light but very tasty! The service is always lovely and their food is absolute quality!

We had a meal between 5 of us and we really enjoyed it. The atmosphere was friendly and casual, and the food portions were pretty generous. When we couldn't finish everything the staff kindly offered to pack the leftovers individually for us to enjoy at home.

Mmmm Massaman! - Edit
Very happy to have discovered this great little Thai cafe when in Sydney recently. Enjoyed it so much the first night, I made a point of returning a few nights later and was not disappointed.

New Fave - Edit
Alright so I think I've found my favourite Thai restaurant - if not my all time favourite casual restaurant - of all time...not sure if it means much but this is coming from someone who is half Thai herself. Classic Thai dishes maintain authenticity, yet come with a contemporary (and vegan of course) spin. No doubt the food is always fresh, tasty, and beautifully presented. The owner might also be the sweetest person ever!!!

Best Vegan Thai in Sydney - Edit
I love the Kindness Cafe. I have been 3 times and am always impressed. My favourite dish on the menu is the roti with curry sauce and the apple salad which is super spicy with fried crumbled tofu. It's delicious! Just have a beverage handy.
Read moreI also love the curries in particular the Red Curry! One recommendation I would give to patrons is not to ask for a certain level of spice. I opted for medium spice as I was with a friend who doesn't tolerate it like I do and it lowered the deliciousness of the dish for me. Let the chefs do their thing and you will be dazzled!
Pros: ALL VEGAN, Large menu, lots of options, Great location within the square

Kinda-nice - Edit
Based on reviews here I was looking forward to visiting the Kindness Café. I tried the mixed platter of starters...which were OK, nothing special and the fresh veg "Thai garden" stir fry which was exactly that. The service was polite and friendly but one word of warning - when I asked the waitress she said "everything" on the menu was vegan, yet some dishes clearly had egg in them. So choose with care !

A restaurant that matches its name - Edit
Urgh...dear oh dear, there're not enough kind words I can use to describe this restaurant. It's definitely a hidden gem and it should get more awareness than it is now!
Read moreWe're a vegan couple so we made our effort to go give it a try.
Staff 5/5: I believe they're the owners of the cafe , super friendly and full of kindness as the restaurant name.
Food 5/5: We ordered three entrees, one main, a bowl of rice, and a mango sticky rice dessert. Yes, we were stuffed afterwards but every single dish were amazing!
Settings & Atmosphere 4.5/5: the missing 0.5 is because our table was too small for the amount of food we ordered lol.
One thing I'd like to highlight is the thoughtfulness, giving you a warm plate to serve? It melts my heart too!
Coming from an Asian country the food is a bit more to the sweet side to me, but my boyfriend enjoyed a lot. Definitely coming back!
Recommend dish: corn fritters!
Pros: kindness and thoughtfulness , hidden gem, Yum food
Cons: table a bit too small, no indoor sitting

Stellar - Edit
There are mediocre, good, and brilliant veg restaurants. This one is outstanding. Its small, but its perfect. The food is divine. Tasty, but not heaps of oil. Spicy and interesting, with a good variety. The dishes are interesting, not something you are going to cook at home.

Welcome addition - Edit
This place has been open for about three months, and it's great to have an all vegetarian (mostly vegan) restaurant in this part of Sydney. It's not the cheapest Thai food in town, but it is cooked to order and they use quality fresh ingredients. Cheaper at lunch time, 11.30 am to 3pm, when you can get stir fry or curry with steamed rice for $14.50, and noodles or fried rice for $14. It's in a pleasant courtyard of several eateries at the corner of Palmer Street and Kings Lane, which is right beside the junction of Palmer and Liverpool streets. The friendly waitress was quick to establish whether I was vegan, and assured me that there were only a few non-vegan items, such as egg noodles or ice coffee or ice tea with milk. The chilli basil stir fry was excellent; next time I'll try the drunk noodles.
