Just okay - Edit
I was really looking forward to this place since I had been not eating very well out here as a vegan. The service was not great at all. Seemed like everyone from the hostess to the waitress to the buss boy did not want to be there at all, the noodles in my dish were good and the tofu was okay… but the veggies were not cooked nearly enough and there was a half cup of basil garnish that I had to pick around. The only reason I’m not giving this a one is because I was very happy to get something that I could eat on our trip besides an impossible burger,

Great experience - Edit
I’ll start off by saying I’m so grateful this place was here because there aren’t many vegan options in this area. This is one of the better meals I had in Crescent City/Brookings.
Read moreI got the panang curry with tofu (specify no fish sauce) and while it wasn’t prepared in the same way as my favorite spots back home (they went a little heavy on the coconut milk for my taste), it certainly wasn’t bad and was easily adjusted with the dried chiles you can get at the table. Great beer selection too btw. Price for my meal was about average.
What really stood out to me was the quality of service. They knocked it out of the park with excellent teamwork even though the place was packed. I will definitely return again whenever I’m in the area

“Most items can be made vegan” - Edit
Said the wait staff! The menu mentions that things can be made vegan, but nothing is actually marked, save for one special on this visit. We got fresh rolls, pad see ewe, spicy cashew, and Thai fried rice. The wait staff made it a point to identify “all vegan” when delivering our meal to our table. Clean, bright interior and the food came out quickly. A great spot!

Great service and fresh veggies - Edit
The restaurant was spacious and the entrance had massive indoor plants to greet you. The service was exceptional with at least three waiters taking care of you. The food came swiftly and the plate was beautifully displayed with a great assortment of fresh veggies and tofu with herbs (Rainbow Tofu). The fresh spring rolls were great tho I’ve have better dipping sauce at our local food cart in Pdx. Overall we were very pleased!

Delicious Vegan Options at Kin Khao Thai Eatery - Edit
We had researched vegan restaurant options in Crescent City for a trip to the Redwoods. Kin Khao was within walking distance from the hotel and got wonderful vegan reviews on HappyCow so we decided to have dinner there. So happy we chose this restaurant. We appreciated that there were quite a few options that could be made vegan. The Yakisoba Noodles with tofu, (ask for no egg and no fish sauce) was so delicious. The Red Curry with tofu was outstanding and just the right spiciness. My friend, who doesn’t normally care for eggplant, was so impressed with this curry dish. We highly recommend Kin Khao. Will stop there every time when visiting Crescent City. So helpful to have the HappyCow app as a reference and resource for vegan options when traveling!

Super tasty, quick, friendly - Edit
Everything was so fresh. I was going to have pad Thai but decided to have Rainbow Tofu special with noodles instead of rice- a bounty of mixed veg and tofu with delicious flavour. Loved every bite. We also loved the fresh salad rolls

I liked it!//just double check - Edit
On the menu there is a vegan symbol, but none of the items were marked with it...I asked the waiter about it and they said it was "a vegan and vegetarian based restaurant so everything can be made vegan unless it is a meat-based dish" (?) So they pointed out some option, I got the summer rolls and red curry with tofu, and both were delicious. The portions were big and it was a chill spot--id come back if I were in the area again!
Read more--update: when I went back a second time, I'm fully confident that the soup I got was not veg--like had a bit of meat in it which i feel implies they use the same soup base for all soups--i was told what i ordered *could* be vegan, despite the fact that on the menu the broth base included fish. I think that if you go here, make sure you clarify what EXACTLY you do/don't eat. Or ask if they can check with the chef, because there's definitely things you could get that wouldn't be like this. I think I just had a bad experience because they were slammed and trying to move through people quickly -_-

Better than expected - Edit
Vegan options are clearly marked. The dishes are simple but very tasty and although the description might seem a bit too plain, can-make-it-yourself kinda thing, it's actually surprisingly good and better than expected

Tasty curry! - Edit
This was a lively place which is a good sign of the food to come. Owing to pandemic caution, I carried out my food. They were seating people indoors, though. I got a Mas-sa-mun curry (I know it as Massaman) and it was excellent! They ask you to indicate your preferred level of spiciness from 0 to 5; I asked for 4 and that was perfect for my taste. Also got a summer roll, tasty! I wasn’t sure when I ordered if the somewhat flustered newbie staff person heard me ask for a vegan preparation. She did and my dinner was very tasty!

Delicious Thai - Edit
Really yummy Thai food. They were good about checking is items were vegan for me and also offered to veganize dishes basically by leaving eggs out. Good spicy Thai too! Had the curry and a fried rice. One vegan appetizer: spring rolls.
