Vegan options at Hasedera temple - Edit

Next to the outdoor observation deck where visitors can picnic or buy items from vending machines while fending off marauding local birds , the casual indoor restaurant Kaikoan serves two vegan main dishes--pasta with tomato sauce, veggie curry--and a few vegan desserts made with red beans or kanten. Beer, wine, sake, and tea are also available .

It's open from 11:30--around 4:00. Customers must pay the temple entrance fee., and climb up the stairs through the grounds to reach the restaurant.

Pros: Vegan, Moderate price, beautiful surroundings

Cons: Must pay to enter the temple grounds
