Delicious Find!

Lovely staff and delicious food. Mushrooms are highlighted on this mostly vegan menu. We had the taco salad and the yellow coconut curry and both were spectacular. I could tell that every dish was made with love!

Exceeded my expectations

I walked here this morning from presidio and got there right when they opened. The staff was super friendly right from the start.
When I looked over the menu, there were a lot of breakfast items that caught my eye. It was honestly hard to choose but I went with the avocado and toast because I wasn’t too hungry. I honestly didn’t expect much because how fancy can avocado and toast be? Wow was I wrong.
The avocado was so fresh to start and you get an entire avocado which is so nice. The vegan eggs were the all vegetarian inc/ be leaf brand. Most realistic “over easy” egg you’ll ever have. And the plate came with TWO of them! They are pretty large in size. The toast was this huge slice with a delicious buttery seasoned spread on it. The plate also came with arugula, green onions, cilantro and two delicious sauces. One a green cilantro tasting sauce, the other an orange chipotle flavored one. Everything about this plate was so delicious that I’m contemplating going back tomorrow.
They are pricy, with my total coming out to $20 after tax and before tip, but it was honestly so worth it in my opinion. I think this was the best vegan breakfast I’ve ever had.
A nice little bonus was their bathroom. It felt like you were in a temple. It was so cool and unique and they have black toilet paper 😝
Highly, highly, highly recommend this place!!

Insanely good. Possibly the best meal I’ve had ever. And that’s saying a lot.

This is now my favorite restaurant. It’s a two hour drive from my house, but I’m coming back regularly. The tasting menu is a little pricey, but completely worth it.

Pros: 99% vegan, (cow cheese is available for pizzas), Wait staff is super friendly , Reservations can be made online

Cons: None

A Mushroom Lovers Dream

We spent the weekend in Monterey just to get out of the house for a bit so we looked up some veggie places to eat. This was our pick for dinner and we truly LOVED it.

The staff was super friendly, we sat outside with our dog and I think just about everyone who worked there came by to say hello at some point and pet her. We fed her some pieces of arugula, showed one of the owners and he came back and gave her a whole plate of it (which was far more than she planned on eating but, we enjoyed it).

We had a speciality local mushroom starter that was really delicious, for our meal we split the tamale pie and a flatbread pizza. Both were fantastic. Loved the place, loved the food, loved the people, wish I could have eaten there again. If you visit Monterey, it's worth it.

Pros: Tasty food, Friendly staff, Unique menu

Great food and ambiance✨

Great food and ambiance, would definitely go back. I had the spicy cauliflower, which strangely was actually not spicy whatsoever. Might have been a mistake? But still really enjoyed it!

Interesting Mushroom Decor

Came here for a lunch after stopping in Carmel. We made a reservation but it was probably unnecessary. They have cute outdoor seating booths with greenery in the panel separating the booths.

I think I saw an old menu on Happy Cow where you could choose the method of preparation for their assortment of in season mushrooms but now you can elect to add their mushrooms to most of the dishes. We got the Vegan Rita pizza with cordyceps added and the fried egg sandwich with paprika potatoes. The pizza came with vegan cheese, button mushrooms, cherry tomatoes and a generous sprinkling of arugula on top. The crust was more like a pita than typical pizza crust but I kind of liked it. The fried egg sandwich, which we had requested a vegan egg for, baffled us in that it looked so much like a real egg. Alas, it was a real egg and not a vegan egg. Thankfully we’re flexible but I wish the order had been right. The potatoes were alright, could’ve roasted a bit more and less salty.

Overall, nice options but I enjoy going to fully vegan places more. Parking is easy with plenty of spots.

Pros: Amusing bathroom

Cons: May accidentally have non-vegan items

Surprisingly Delicious!

Wow oh wow! Julia's truly blew me away. When I saw they were a vegetarian restaurant I was a little skeptical of how many things could be made vegan. Come to find out almost everything on their menu is vegan and everything else can easily be made vegan. Everything vegan is clearly labeled with a V along with gluten free (GF) and items containing nuts (N). Flavors were fresh, menu items were creative. I was thoroughly impressed m. Will definitely be coming back when I'm in the area!!!

Pros: The bathroom is an experience, Almost everything is vegan, Friendly staff

Cons: Pricey

Experience.

Coming here will make you feel good. You eat well prepared meals with calm flavor profiles, and enjoy smooth Portuguese jazz while bathing in the morning sun. The real stars of this place are the mushroom dishes, which I regrettably did not order. The huevos rancheros were great, and I would definitely recommend. Skip the coffee and donut holes, and go instead for kombucha, juice, or tea.

Find a reason to use the bathroom.

Respect to the artist: Laura Tryon for her transformation of the space.

Tasty, high quality

Relaxed, conscious environment. Very tasty food, high quality - and pricey, because that is the neighborhood. I got the vegan hot-buttered rum along w/my meal. Good, but they brought it after the starter cauliflower came. Make sure to tell them to bring it before the meal. I think it is hand made, so maybe takes a while. But they can time it. I don't think you can go wrong with the food, but be prepared to spend. So make this a sit-down dining experience.

Amazing!

Came here specifically for breakfast before leaving this beautiful area and heading back home to rain. The fried egg sandwich is absolutely Ah-ma-ZING!!!! I highly recommend it. Also ordered the French toast banana split thing which was great as well. Would definitely frequent this place if I lived here.

Great restaurant!

I had breakfast at Julia's yesterday. What a great spot!

We had huevo ranchero with vegan "eggs" the restaurant sources from Loving Hut. It was delicious. I especially enoyed the crispy potatoes.

For dessert we had donut holes that were coated in sugar. It was served with a bowl of candy cap sauce that was also very sweet. I found I didn't need the dipping sauce. The same sauce is used in their hot chocolate, which was delicious.

The interior is beautiful with slabs of trees as tables. The silverware is big and quirky. The bathroom was a real experience.

I met the owner and it sounds like the place has transformed some since the pandemic started. There are plans to expand along with construction of a new bathroom with a different theme.

I highly recommend checking out this place. Good food and a good time.

Pros: Everything can be made vegan, Fun atmosphere, Great service
