Best Vegan Mexican Food in the City - Edit
This place is very conveniently located in the Whole Foods in Hudson Yards. My non-vegan friends came with me and enjoyed their dishes as well. My friend had the chorizo burrito which she enjoyed, and my other friend had the empanada and the enchilada which was really good as well. I had the taco tazon which they made gluten free for me. They did have an extensive menu, and the had some healthier options (the bowls) as well as gluten free options. I will definitely hit this place up again when I'm in the city.

Cons: would be nice to have more non-spicy dishes

Love! - Edit
Grabbed an order of nachos, to go, as I was leaving Whole Goods. I asked for the toppings and chips to be packaged separately for travel and in so glad I did. I was so surprised at the amount of toppings, specifically the queso, that I know the chips would have been so soggy by the time I was able to eat it.
Read moreI was so surprised with the amount of food I got in my order! Large amount of chorizo, beans, and the queso container was the same size! I don’t know if it is that same amount when ordered all together but I will HAPPILY take a ton of queso!
I was worried about running out of chips so I put all of the toppings, in stages, into the queso and scooped it. That’s why I didn’t take pictures of anything. As delicious as it was, eating it this way wasn’t going to do Ja, Ja, Ja no favors with a photo.
The gal taking my order said the nachos are the most popular item and I can see it is for good reason!

This is a casual branch located inside a Whole Foods, but the food is still incredible! We struggled to choose but loved what we went with!

SO good! - Edit
Love the drinks, the food, and the staff couldn't be kinder, more lovely humans. Everything is good here. It was a little hard for me to find the first time I went in, as it's tucked up inside a Whole Foods store, but it's worth the effort. I always get a margarita because they are the best!

We left a vegan bread crumb trail to find it but it's worth - Edit
can be a bit tricky to find, as it is tucked away on the second floor inside the Whole Foods store near the prepared foods section.
Read moreYou might even need to leave clues for others to locate it, as it’s not immediately visible from the street.
Once inside, the indoor seating is clean, comfortable, and casual, making it a relaxing spot for a meal. The service is incredible
.
We started with, the guacamole and chips are a good choice.
For entrées, the Verde burritos and mole burritos stand out—both offer great flavor and the right level of spice. It’s hard to pick a favorite between the enchiladas since they’re both equally delicious and well-spiced. The portion sizes are just right—not too big or small.
Only complaint, I found it extremely difficult to cut enchiladas into bite size pieces. Shell on bottom was a little hard
If you want to try Jajaja Mexicana, just remember to look for the Whole Foods on West 33rd Street and head upstairs to find this hidden gem tucked at the back.
Pros: Service , Comfortable seating , Great Mexican flavors
Cons: Hard to find.

Good Mexican Food - Edit
Location is tricky, I hope they would write it somewhere at the entrance to avoid confusion (I had to ask someone working at Wholefoods). You go up the escalator for Wholefoods and walk to the opposite end corner. Besides that, the food was yummy and the server was nice too.

Great Mexican food all vegan - Edit
The taco was not very filling but it was delicious, it just was meant as a starter not a main course. Loved the chimichanga “steak”.

Great Nachos - Edit
3.5 stars - about a 5-7 minute walk from Penn/MSG which is convenient. Jajaja was on the second floor of Whole Foods. Come up the elevator and turn around to the checkout counters and head that way. Prepared food section will be to your left, walk all the way back to find jajaja. Service was extremely quick and our tacos and nachos came out in less than 5 minutes. We ordered the nachos with extra guac ($19 total) which were expensive for the portion size but delicious. My fiancé had the chipotle black bean tacos and I had the birria tacos. Chipotle tacos were good but sweet potatoes were a little hard and should have been cooked longed. Birria tacos were not great imo due to nutmeg or some sweeter spice that I didn’t love in the consumé. Prices were high especially for a quick counter service restaurant and small portions but food was not bad. The nachos were the favorite of both of us.

Qwerky place - Edit
Tucked away inside an amazing food market. Great menu choices, although difficult to know what some of the ingredients were. Could do with photos on the menu. Delicious food. My only complaints are that our starters and mains came out together and the food is served in a cardboard tub with plastic cutlery.

HOW IS THIS PLACE SO GOOD?!?!?! - Edit
Somehow a small little restaurant in the corner of a Whole Foods is one of my favorite places to eat in the city. Super quick service, really tasty food. Very affordable. Very flavorful, likely the best vegan Mexican on the east coast. An absolute gem

WHAT A GOOD PLACE! - Edit
to get into the restaurant can be a little complicated because it's located INSIDE Whole Food, but otherwise, everything is really good. I recommend you to get the chorizo burrito and enchiladas verdes. The rice and beans are awesome

What a nice find -- gourmet vegan in a Whole Foods setting - Edit
The food is delicious, just like at their sit-down counterpart locations. This one is tucked inside a Whole Foods in a quiet corner. Order at the counter and just about the time you sit, someone brings it to you. Very fast. Check out how lovely the burrito is.

Pleasant dining within Whole Foods - Edit
We had dinner at Jajaja Mexicana located within Whole Foods in Hudson Yards. The restaurant is in a smaller food court, with its own booths and tables, and counter ordering but with food delivered to the table. The meal was excellent, but some portions were on the small size.. It was a pleasant place to dine in a busy store.

Fast and super tasty - Edit
The food was served incredibly quickly which is great for a quick pit stop for food hall-style food. Everything we got was super tasty and the hot sauces were actually hot (and delish). I definitely enjoyed it and would swing back through!

Delicious treat when in the Hudson Yards area. - Edit
Needed lunch and went into the giant Whole Foods. Up on the second floor in a sunny corner in the back is Jajaja Mexicana. All vegan Mexican dishes! Order at the counter and grab a seat at the counter or in the nearby seating area; they will bring it out to you. I had the Enchiladas Mole. There were three very well-filled "pollo" enchiladas with a delicious mole sauce, and a big helping of Spanish Rice. There's a water dispenser and cups by the counter. It was a perfect lunch. There are apps, tacos, enchiladas, bowls, and desserts - everything I saw looked amazing. Great price for really tasty and filling dishes.
