Clean Me

I am always thrilled to be able to eat out, difficult with food allergies and diet restrictions for both my husband and I. This is a cute place, a good selection of food. I enjoyed my meal (I had an enchilada), however my husband who had a stir-fry got a bad stomachache after leaving. My big and serious gripe is this place is FILTHY!!! The floors look like they get swept once a month and have never been mopped. The bottoms of the tables (that is very visible) are full of dirt from peoples shoe and dust. We saw two huge flies flying around (in February) and the bathroom...do not go in until AFTER you eat. My thought is it's always much worse where customers cannot see - like in the kitchen. I will never go to this place again - this is unfortunate because I am a vegetarian that tries to only eat organic food - so my options are very limited. Oh, and I saw someone who works there lick her fingers and blow her nose and not wash her hands after. :-(

Pros: great concept, cute place, good selection

Cons: filthy, sweep and mop the floor, clean the bathroom!

Junk vegan food

The title of my review sums it all up. If you are health conscious at all, possibly plant based or even SOS free, don’t bother coming. You will get sick from eating this food just as fast as if you ate a standard American diet. Yes, it is vegan, only meaning that there are no animal products, but it is all deep-fried, swimming in butter (vegan, of course), extremely salty or nauseatingly sugary. And the staff was neither accommodating about changes, nor concerned if customers liked the food - the server never bothered inquiring if everything was ok after bringing the order out. Of course, there are vegans and vegans, so the majority of people around me were chowing down their dinners… and then probably wondering why their stomachs were not happy. I guess it’s too bad I understand what food like this does to the body on a cellular level… There are other restaurants that might not be vegan, but might be a better choice. Or, did I mention a life size painting of a naked gay man with exposed [censored] staring at you during your meal? I am not a prude, but there is a time and place for everything. Leaving with a bad taste in my mouth in more senses than one.

Pros: Vegan ?, Large selection (of junk food), Plants create cosy and intimate environment

Cons: Junk vegan food, Not accommodating service , Offensive gay art

Agreed, most of the food is fried, but enough wholesome choices can be found among the two sandwiches and several sides.
Thank you for commenting about that macabre painting. After my visit 3 months ago, my first in over 3 years, I returned last night. The artwork on the walls usually rotates, but that larger-than-life-size portrait of a male in full frontal nudity has remained a fixture. I am oblivious to its nudity at the groin. But I find disturbing the grotesque animal skull that substitutes for its head. It is appropriate as a poster for a horror movie. And more fitting for displaying in a butcher shop or a crematorium, but certainly not in a vegan restaurant. With that painting hanging on the wall, a question hangs in the air. Whose mind is more disturbed? The painter’s, the proprietors’, or yours and mine?

Continuing the comments about the art on the wall… This would not make for a family restaurant. I am grateful that our teenage daughter chose not to join us for dinner that night. Would not want to promote bad taste in a young generation, already brainwashed to the extreme. It’s just NOT ok. LGBTQ political campaign stealing children (and potential grandchildren) from parents has gone too far. This particular piece is executed by someone with plenty of art education and is grammatically correct, but it is not art, but a political statement.

How do you know the picture is “gay” art? Oh nevermind, just read your additional comment and its because you are a homophobe.

Do not eat here.

I don’t leave 1-2 star reviews for veg businesses unless they literally sicken us. This place did. The food came out in portions that were 3x as big and 2x as expensive as they deserved to be. Everything tasted like the deep fryer. We boxed up our many leftovers and continued on our travels.

Just a few hours later, the leftovers smelled like sewage. My husband began throwing up and did not stop all night. We got no sleep. It was a bad scene.

The two stars are required by Happy Cow since it’s a veg establishment. Don’t go here.

Cons: Not great to begin with, Husband barfing all night, We paid a lot for the privilege
