When in Italy, eat Italindian! - Edit
Visited September 10th, 2025. Found on HC.
Read moreMe and my bestie visited the amazing old beautiful city
of Venezia and after visiting the only all out vegan place,
we felt like trying Italian in Italy.
I personally love Indian food for all the spices (and obviously the wide range of vegan dishes), so I love to try Indian food whenever I'm abroad.
We found this place just a bit further down the street from our hotel, and went there on a warm september evening, just after the high season ended and enjoyed sitting by the canal.
The menu wasn't labelled with vegan dishes, however the waiter helped us out.
The portions were generous and very tasty, nicely spiced. We split 3 main dishes and were more than full.
Bill specs:
Daal Tadka 13 €
Gobi Aloo 13 €
Mix Veg Curry 13 €
White Rice 5 €
Roti with chutney 3 €
Kamasutra Beer 5 €
Coperto/Service fee 2 x 3 €
Highly recommend!

Tasty Chana Masala - Edit
Chana Masala is my go-to Indian dish and it tasted great here. I also had the roti.

A sample of India - Edit
The location of the restaurant is beautifully placed on the canal with outdoor seating available. The restaurant itself is comfortably small, clean and modern.
Read moreThe food was authentically Indian and very tasty. Once they knew I was vegan the manager was sent over to take my order and advise which dishes were suitable for me to eat. The starter was a cone shaped poppadum with a tamarind dip which was delicious. I ordered Chana Masala, (yellow) Dahl Tadka, Gobi Aloo and Roti. The portion size was really good. I was stuffed full so took the remainder of my food back to my hotel and had as a snack the following day.
I was out for a solo meal that evening and I felt like I was looked after. I did not book a table and they were quite busy. If you want to guarantee you will have a table it would most probably be best to book in advance.
It was nice to have a different food profile from your regular Italian dishes. I would be happy to revisit :)

Good alternative to pasta/pizza - Edit
Decent Indian with a full page of vegetarian options. All staff speak English and Italian well so you can ask to clarify if things are vegan. Food itself is nothing special compared to other Indian restaurants but it was filling and I've had many worse Indians in other touristy cities.

Amazing all around - Edit
The servers knew what vegan means, knew exactly which items are and aren't vegan, and are happy to explain. Food is great and the atmosphere is very friendly. One of the best dining experiences we had in Venice.

Great food and many vegan options - Edit
Options for both appetizers and main dish for vegans and the food was very nice. On Google the website shows only a little bit of the menu, there's actually many more options than the second hand website shows. Would recommend for a tasty dinner! We had vegetable pakora, aloo tikki (served with chutneys) and mushroom karahi with roti.

Good vegan indian food - Edit
Vegan Indian food in Venice! It’s great but the food wasn’t that amazing, will still get a 4/5 rating though. Not bad at all. Service is exceptional!

Great food - Edit
Had a lovely meal at this popular restaurant. Great to find something a little different in Venice. Our waiter was happy to adapt some dishes to vegan on request.

Decent place - Edit
Plenty of vegetable dishes to choose from. Taste of the food was okay, but nothing spectacular. They automatically bring out some papadoms with dips including one with yoghurt, so let them know as soon as you enter that you want vegan food

Wonderful! - Edit
My whole all-vegan family loved our dinner at Ital India! What an extraordinary find in Venice — a vegan meal oasis in a sea of not-very-vegan friendly restaurants.
