Our new favorite place to eat!

First time we had Ethiopian food was in Brussels. Hubby and I are both vegans & when we found out that the restaurant was a vegan restaurant (Toukoul) we had to give it a go. The food was beyond delicious! We coupdnt believe it! Fast forward a few years and we found injera house. Weve been meaning to visit for a while and then 2020 happened! One casual Saturday afternoon, we thought, should we? Or shall we keep the amazing memories in Belgium and not risk a bad experience! We thought, hey, why not! Let's go. We walked in, the smile of the gentleman (i think he could have been the owner) at the counter was so warm and inviting that we were already happy to have walked in. I told him about how great our exprience was in Europe and how delicious is the ethiopean food. Asked him about what he recommends (vegan) cause let's face it we had no clue! He said he will make us a platter with a few dishes. Omg! May I just say! BETTER THAN BRUSSELS! the food was so delicious! Such generous serving! The service! The cleanliness! The price! This place, honestly, this place is a hidden gem! That was 3 Saturdays ago. Before I finished work today, I called the hubby! "Hey! You wanna go to injera for dinner straight after work?", he replied "heck ya"! ... pulled out of car park, he goes "you wanna check if they are open?", me: " off course they are open! Hello?!"- him: "just check!"- and reluctantly I did! And bam! Disappointment set in! They close at 5 on Tuesdays! .... & so we drove back home! Check opening hours before you head there. This place is going to be our new regular spots! You must visit specially if your vegan! Finger licking good! + super warm and friendly service. Thank you injera house! We will be back!😄
Ps: wasn't able to give this restaurant 5 stars cause happy cow keeps 5 stars status to fully vegan restaurants only. Fair enough😉

Different flavours then any other restaurant I have tried.

Big serving sizes and friendly staff.

I got the option to combine 6 different dishes on each injera.

So yummy!

I had the Beyaynetu dish. Beautiful Ethiopian pancake with several vegan dishes on top. Great service, very yummy. My dish was around $17. Well worth it. I took a photo after I had eaten half the pancake because I lost my mind from the great aroma.

Love the Vegan Buffet

I go to the all you can eat vegan buffet that is held every second Wednesday, but vegan food is always available at fairly reasonable prices.

I don't live close but for a healthy meal that I don't have to organise myself, and to catch up with some other vegans, I don't mind a bit of a drive.

The staff and management are very nice and happily make me up a gluten free injera. Just tell them when you book in for the buffet.

Pros: Quite healthy food. Mostly gluten free., Hand washing facilities inside restaurant next to

Cons: Toilet is a bit of a walk away

Fab fun food!

We had a bit of a search to find the restaurant (at the shopping centre near Subway). We got a friendly welcome when we did get there, and the menu was easy to navigate with prominent vegan options. The vegan share plate got us some if everything, and was seriously yummy! There was enough that we were all full when we finished!

Definitely recommend!

Pros: Eating with fingers, Authentic Ethiopean food, Cheap

Great service, great food, great prices

I can not speak highly enough of this place.
Fortunately for me I live around the corner from it.
Although not exclusively vegan restaurant, there are a lot of vegan options, with new things added to the menu regularly.
The best being the Beyaynetu which means mixed vegetarian platter.
The Injera is a sourdough pancake that you dip into the curry like condiments and salads.
There is also a gluten free option, although you have to book that in advance as it is sourdough and needs time to mature. There is added cost to the gluten free injera.

Not many meals can make me content as these do. I have been caught out just giggling to myself halfway through at how awesome the food is.

I have also been when people from around the world have been in to try it out, and all have given great reviews.

I would give this place a five star rating however Happy cow does not allow this for veg friendly restaurants.
You would be hard pressed to find better service for such cheap prices.

Pros: Amazing food, Amazing service, Very affordable

Cons: Toilets are outside the restaurant
