If the food offerings at the airport reflect demand, it must be hard to be vegan in Houston. Should you check out airport pizza places, hoping for vegan cheese, or hamburger joints, thinking they may have a vegan burger, or even health food places, allow enough time to concede defeat and still make your flight.
Read moreThis sit-down restaurant (it also does take-out) was the only place I found with anything vegan on the menu (though not labelled as such). It’s overpriced, and I was impressed by quite how bad my dish was: overcooked rice, overcooked vegetables, synthetic-tasting sauce, and … that was it. Could I add tofu? No, it wasn’t on the computer, despite being in other dishes. Still, it was a meal. Reasonable service. The ambience wasn’t bad, for an airport restaurant.
If you’re vegan, bring your own food to IAH.

There aren’t too many vegan options in IAH unfortunately. The dumplings are tiny and I asked them to make it vegan. So it came freshly made but very salty. I think I just died sodium overdose. Won’t return!

Caution ⚠️ You may get delayed here if your flight leaves in less than 30 minutes. We found the ordering process clumsy and service is slow/ non existent.
Read moreThis is one of those places where you can’t actually place your order with a human - you have to scan the QR code thing and order on your phone, even if the employee is standing in front of you.😒 It was frustrating for us because we had no cellphone signal in this area of the airport. It turns out you have to connect to their ordering Wi-Fi to be able to order.. ..but there were no signs and no one around to tell us that 🤷🏻♀️😂
Once we ordered, our food took 20-25 minutes to come out. We hardly saw an employee once or twice.
The food was good enough. The veg options are not marked as vegan, so I took the employee’s word for it when she told me the veg dumplings are vegan. 🙏🏼 The veg miso ramen (minus egg plus tofu) was nice to eat as a warm filling bowl on the plane. #Veganuary

Vegan options in Houston airport - Edit
Thsnkful to find this place so i didn't have to eat a meal of clif bars and potato chips. The veg ramen was fantastic (specify no egg), as were the dumplings.
