Great Nola style vegan food - Edit
I had the ital plate and it was great. Fried cauliflower that was crispy on the outside and soft but not too soft on the inside. Southern greens. And coconut black eyed peas. Plus cornbread of course.

NOLA must visit - Edit
100% worth the walk out of town to I-tal. Great selection of food and all so fresh. Make sure you check opening days and hours as you don’t want to miss out. Crispy mushrooms that could be mistaken for chicken and spicy sauces are a must. Would love to see some plantain on the menu.

Amazing Soul Food in NOLA - Edit
This was favorite meal this week in NOLA. You can build your own plate with proteins and sides at a reasonable price. Staff was friendly and food was delivered quickly. I had the avocado fries to start. They were soft and warm and came with a spicy dipping sauce. Then I had the jackfruit ribs in a sweet smoky barbecue sauce. Delicious and was my favorite thing. The Mac and cheese was creamy and had a hint of curry. The black-eyed peas were rich in flavor and mixed with quinoa. Brussels sprouts were charred and perfection. I selected the lemon-pepper oyster mushrooms as the last protein and they were crispy and delicious. It’s all filling and wonderful. Highly recommend!

Vegan Soul Food with a handful of healthy options - Edit
Sketchy location but at least it is not a drunk fest location with tons of seafood option. Pure vegan comfort food. Lots of fried options but also some healthy options.

Amazing food! - Edit
Being from New England, Ive never had the chance to try soul food. Now I know why it’s considered that! Absolutely incredible in every way! The Mac and cheese was perfect, the green beans were delicious, i lovedddd the cauliflower. If they were open later hours, I would have been back another day too but it never fit in our travel plans! I loved this place!!! The service was quick for us, FYI😄

Good Food - Edit
This place was highly recommended by friends who had visited before, so I had high hopes. My boyfriend and I (both vegan) both agreed that the food was decent, but not incredible. Unfortunately, the service was incredibly slow. We ordered our food at the same time (almost identical meals), but he got his food a good 20-30 minutes before I got mine. I expected to be able to eat my meal at the same time as the person I'm dining with. Then we had to remind them about our drinks we'd ordered. On top of all that, we realized they'd forgotten part of his meal and had to show them the receipt so they could bring it out later. We love supporting vegan restaurants, but 3 stars is as high as I can honestly rate this place.

Excellent food. Great to have a vegan plant based option to Creole cuisine. Food is delicious. If it is your first visit try the make you own playe so you can try a alot of different sides. The buffalo and Sriracha barbecue sauces both have a nice kick to them.

Out of this world - Edit
I got the lemon pepper oyster mushroom wrap and wow…. It was incredible. Very filling and flavorful. The fries were really well seasoned- probably some of the best fries I’ve had. Everything on the menu looked so good, I don’t think you could go wrong with anything. Excellent option in NOLA.

Absolute Fire - Edit
I-Tal was amazing. The best soul food we had in NOLA. The potato salad was something else, so amazing. It even had a very eggy taste, which I’m not sure how they managed to do. The Mac n Cheese was also the best I’d had in NOLA.
Read moreI highly recommend the jackfruit ribs, I was skeptical at first, but the jackfruit makes a near perfect texture for ribs, and they were SO good! The only thing that was not up to par with the entire plate were the greens. They were good, but I preferred the greens at Sweet Soulfood. Otherwise, this place was off the charts, amazing.
The food did take about 45-50 minutes to come out, and it wasn’t very busy. But upon trying the food, it didn’t bother me as I assume it was all made fresh to order and it was better than I could have hoped.
