don't order carbonara - Edit

Lovely restaurant and great interior design. The menu is far too big which makes decision making super difficult. Mac and cheese, crispy tofu nuggets and papaya salad are good. Pumpkin carbonara was a catastrophe. First of all there is mushroom, which was not written on the menu and we really don't like mushrooms. Secondly there's barely sauce on it, doesn't taste like pumpkin at all and coconut bacon is inexistent. That was the first time we gave something back to the kitchen in our entire lifes. This is as far from carbonara as new york city from paris. They were very understanding though, didn't charge us for it and let us order something else. We ordered the tuna melt sandwich which actually was an open sandwich or I would say three bruschetta. Don't even get me started on the tasteless peanut cookies. Friendly staff and nice looking restaurant. Unfortunately this couldn't compensate the missing taste, small portions and skyrocking prices.

Pros: nice interior , friendly and helpful staff

Cons: didn't convince in taste, expensive, small portions

Yum - Edit

At the time of our last visit, in November 2017, this was the only all vegan restaurant in the Hua Hin area. It was a welcome addition to the city, and we ended up visiting many times.

The food was mostly delicious. Loved the tofu nuggets and lentil tacos. The mac and cheese was not to my taste, but others in my group liked it. It's a big menu, something for everyone!

Pros: nice portion sizes, variety , wine

Cons: a little pricey, some dishes need improvement

Good Food - Edit

I have been here 3 times already.
Food is great literally cook by order so that's why you have to wait...but never disappointed.
Nice choice of food to choose from.
Charcoal Burger is a must to try.

Pros: A Vegan must stop place

Cons: Expensive specially compare to Thai prices., Service slow but I guess depends from the kitchen.

A welcome entry, with a bit of room to improve - Edit

While there are several tasty vegan places in Hua Hin, previously all of them were the very simple buffet-type establishments. By contrast, Hua Hin Vegan Cafe is a comfortable, table service restaurant with a fairly extensive menu, warm service, and some creativity and a degree of health consciousness in their approach.

During our six visits, we managed to sample quite a bit of the menu, and we found some dishes to be more flavorful than others. Here's a breakdown:

Mieng kham
Young jackfruit curry with betel leaves
Green curry stir fried veggies
Juices (fresh, tasty, served in glass)
Chocolate banana muffin (best when served warm)

Tofu satay
Spicy red curry cauliflower wings (quite tasty but a little soggy; sauce should be dip on the side)
Pulled jackfruit Teriyaki burger
Pulled jackfruit BBQ burger (sloppy Joe style)
Stir fry mushroom with cashew
Banana muffin
Carrot cake

Crispy tofu nuggets (nice and crunchy but a little plain and sauce quantity is small)
Supergreen mushroom soup (good for someone wanting simple flavor, but not necessarily easy to digest since it contains chickpeas and kidney beans)
Chocolate cake (a bit bready and dry)
Peanut Cookie

With regard to healthy preparation, note that they offer both brown and white rice, but they don't always remember to ask which you want, so be sure to specify brown if you prefer that. Also, note that the buns used for the burgers are made with refined white flour, which health-conscious diners would want to avoid. Hopefully in the future they will offer a whole-wheat (or wheat-free) bun.

Prices are quite high by local standards, which might be OK considering the quality but unfortunately they don't accept credit cards. We feel that a restaurant this expensive really should offer their customers the convenience of paying by credit card.

Overall, while there is room for improvement, we found Hua Hin Vegan Cafe to be appealing enough that we visited six times and look forward to coming back.

Pros: All vegan, extensive menu with some very good items

Cons: Doesn't accept credit cards, even though expensive, Not all dishes are equally flavorful

unfortunate disappointment - Edit

We had to wait food and apetizers for one hour. Then they brought the food for two of us and told that they are ours and by the time We had finished them We found out (when our friends got other food) that they had mixed up our order. The food was unfortunately a big disappointment: Teriyaki jackfruit burgers have only the pattie, lettuce and onion. Nothing special. Tofu nuggets... well, good crumbs but overall boring taste. :(

Good food, easy-to-find location - Edit

Lots of options! Menu is very extensive and can satisfy a lot of different cravings. I had the BBQ jackfruit burger which was great, plus fried cauliflower and tofu nuggets as appetizers which were okay. A little pricey for the area but still cheap by American standards!

Pros: Lots of food options, Good food, Good service

Cons: Pricey compared to the area, Appetizers were just okay

a gem - Edit

Delicious meal. We had the jackfruit BBQ burger, jackfruit curry, the kelp noodle salad, the west African peanut soup and lentil tacos--all excellent. The burger, Thai iced tea with almond milk and the curry were the highlights. Only negative was no gluten free desserts. Worth a special visit.

Pros: wide menu selection , excellent GF options for mains and apps, good service

Cons: no GF desserts

Great food. worth visiting - Edit

We visited on our first night here in Hua Hin. Tired and hungry we saw the beautiful lit up sign "HUA HIN VEGAN" - what a sight for sore eyes.
Excellent food and smoothies; everything from traditional Thai dishes to more western style dishes - Best Jackfruit burger I've ever eaten.
The café is clean and airy however lacks atmosphere.

Pros: large menu, fresh, affordable

Cons: no atmosphere

Many visits - Edit

Spent 2 weeks in Hua Hin and visited this restaurant many times. A beautiful restaurant in a light and airy setting with nice big wooden tables and an extensive menu meant I ate there many times. They also had a nice house red wine. If you are vegan or vegetarian or just want something different then I can recommend this place for some interesting and varied dishes.

Pros: Big menu selection, Also has a wine bar, Good friendly service

Abdolutely beautiful 💕 - Edit

Everything about this place is lovely- the food, the setting and the employees.
We went everyday whilst in hua hin because the food was some of the best I've ever tried.
I had the pad thai, mac and cheese, tofu nuggets, spring rolls, vanilla cake and chocolate cake (not all in one night!). All of them were devine, light and fresh, didn't end up feeling sluggish afterwards.
If you're vegan in hua hin, you have to go here.

Pros: Inexpensive, Delicious, Light and fresh

Cons: Sometimes the waitresses misheard what was ordered, The food came out at different times, I couldn't try it all before leaving!

Well worth a visit! - Edit

This is an excellent restaurant, with lots of fresh, delicious vegan dishes from western and Asian cuisines. I plowed through their pulled jackfruit BBQ burger and followed it up with a fudgy vegan chocolate cake.

The service was pleasant and prompt, and the prices were of value given the quality of the food!

Well worth a visit!
