Wrap It Up

My wife and I love the veggie wrap, quinoa salad and a few vegan desserts they offer.

Cons: Not a fan of them leaving the door open , Should use screen door

Only good option in town

I’ve been to this restaurant twice and the first day, I wasn’t impressed. I had the options of a smoothie bowl or a modified spinach scramble wrap and some to go bars. I modified the wrap to have quinoa, spinach, avocado and tomato. The second day they had vegan cranberry apple flax scones. It was very good. Also had what they called a magic bar which was excellent.

Pros: Best option in town, Inexpensive with helpful staff, Nice atmosphere

Cons: Not many options available , Only open til 6pm

Oasis of sorts

In an area where vegan options (let alone vegan eateries) are few and far between (during our travels here, one day we had to resort to breakfast at Subway and lunch at the co-op), Highwheeler Café was a breath of fresh air. We stopped there hoping for coffee and toast, and discovered freshly baked vegan scones, a couple of delicious vegan slices (the “magic” square is to die for) a vegan quinoa roll, and one or two lunch items that can be veganised. Everything is fresh and made on the premisis, plant-based milks are available, the owners are friendly and accommodating. If you’re driving or riding the Cabot Trail, or walking part of it, and you’re plant-fuelled, this is a place to put in your SatNav.
