Heerlijke lunch gehad - Edit
Ik heb heerlijk geluncht bij het Kantongerecht. Meerdere vegetarische gerechtjes konden vegan gemaakt worden, door of de zalm weg te laten of bij de nachos vegan kaas te gebruiken. Ik had de poke bowl, nachos en een vegan aardbei-cheesecakeje. Doordat je 3 gerechtjes pakt dat samen 1 lunch omvat is het lekker afwisselend en het smaakte goed!

A bit expensive but delicious vegan cake - Edit
I visited here for maybe lunch, maybe just coffee. The service was so friendly and attentive and whilst I was assured many of the options on the menu could be made vegan, they didn't seem like well thought out options when taking out the animal products. Would be great to see actual vegan options on the menu. That said I was informed there were two vegan cake options that both sounded delicious. I had the chocolate caramel one and it was honestly one of the tastiest (raw style) vegan cakes I've ever tried...if only it wasn't 5 euros I'd have had another 🤭 so overall I had a lovely experience but with some small tweaks this place could be a lot better for vegans.

Toen mijn moeder een groot diner wilde houden bij het Kantongerecht was het personeel heel behulpzaam. Er werd n plan gemaakt waarin ik de bestaande gerechten van de kaart kon bestellen op vegan wijze bereid.

Our JUDGEment? Delicious food and original concept - Edit
Het Kantongerecht was a great discovery in Boxmeer.We were cycling around in the beautiful area along the Maas but options were limited. We were glad to find this restaurant along the route.
Read moreThe building and decor are beautiful. It used to be an old courthouse and jail and the whole restaurant refers back to that. Ranging from the menu names to the prison like toilets. The menu clearly indicates vegetarian dishes but staff is knowledgeable and gladly indicates vegan and veganisable dishes.
As in prison, the food comes with a standard bread and water option. The bread was very tasty.
The food was clearly freshly prepared. We enjoyed the warming pumpkin soup, the veggie salad and veganised mushroom salad. All were very tasty.
Would definitely recommend when you are in the area
