Super tasty food, friendly staff and cozy atmosphere - Edit

We went to Zuss for High Tea today. I was with my mother (80 years old... the outing was for her birthday), my twin sister (56), and my niece (23). My mother is from Wijchen, my niece from Nijmegen, and my sister and I from Overloon, so we were looking for something in between. Since I'm vegan (but I will accept vegetarian dishes when I go out) and we thought the website looked interesting, we made a reservation. It was a truly wonderful experience. My mother doesn't like tea, so we asked for coffee for her. We were supposed to pay for it separately (but Zuss eventually covered it because it was my mother's birthday). Fantastic! We had Earl Grey tea, a large pot that was more than enough for the three of us. We started with a small bowl of soup: zucchini or tomato soup with croutons. Both were really well-seasoned and delicious! The High Tea dishes were served on a beautiful tiered stand. All the dishes looked beautiful. From sweet (banana bread, brownies, scones (with jam and whipped cream), cheesecake) to savory (sandwiches with tuna salad, goat cheese, a fried roll with omelette and pickled red onion and arugula leaves, and for me as a vegetarian, instead of the tuna salad sandwich, one with grilled vegetables, among other things). It was all homemade, looked beautiful, absolutely everything was delicious and just enough! Only a few brownie pieces and one piece of banana bread were left, which my niece took back to her student room. I was really surprised by the selection. The fact that you can eat at Zuss as a vegetarian or vegan is also a real surprise for me. I am going to enjoy a Zuss evening-dinner (once a week on Fridays they serve a hot dish) because even if the served hot meal isn't vegetarian/vegan, I can still order another vegetarian or vegan dish. The staff is incredibly friendly, highly recommended. It's great to chat about food if you have special dietary needs (gluten, celiac disease, plant-based food-choice, or other requirements). Go try it, they deserve it! Oh, and I thought the price was reasonable. We paid €110 for 4 people (with an extra orange juice in addition to the high tea). But I don't need dinner today! (burp)😄I used to be a chef myself and still cook for my family every day, so I thought these compliments were more than deserved! I would want to give 5 stars but this was not possible since only fully vegetarian or vegan restaurants can get these....Therefor well-earned 4 stars!

Gezellig tentje met goede vegan opties - Edit

Prima voor een keer wat te eten. Maar prijzig naar mij idee. Je betaald bijna 20 euro voor een burger met frietjes, geen salade/groente o.i.d. erbij. Voor een kleine extra portie vegan mayo betaal je dan nog 1 euro bovenop de prijs van je burger met enkel friet.

Pros: Ze hebben vegan mayonaise
