Came In to buy 2 bags of coffee BEANS (which ended up costing me £29.)
When I arrived I asked a member of staff if they sold coffee beans to which they said yes and pointed out the bags of beans on the shelf. I picked up 2 bags, paid and left.
Upon arriving home I opened up one of the bags and was met with grounds, I opened up the other bag and it had beans
Both bags were identical and indistinguishable from one another. So clearly the owner or one of the workers had mixed in the grounds and the beans together in the same pile - and in Identical bags.
Thinking nothing of it I returned to the shop expecting an apology and exchange / refund
But instead I was met with the rude owner who blamed ME for picking up the wrong bag, despite being pointed towards them by a member of staff with no indication some were grounds.
I can’t fathom how the owner thinks this is acceptable. I came in to buy COFFEE BEANS, not gamble with my money.
Why is the beans and grounds in identical bags, and mixed in with one another? Are you that absent minded you can’t see this would cause an issue?!
Really bad form and not how I would conduct my business. When you the owner make a mistake, it is outrageous to make the customer front the bill.
As a side note, I have bought takeaway coffee multiple times from this shop and each time have been met with a face like a slapped [censored]. Staff are also seen rolling their eyes at customers and generally being extremely unhelpful.
It was a busy day, and they are clearly suffering from success as they seem to despise being busy. Hopefully they go out of business.
I will never come back - not that they care, but will also advise others to avoid.
