Went for lunch deal and died for biscoff cheesecake 😋 - Edit
Nice restaurant a bit off all the tourist attractions a little walk up the hill, but the way was clearly worth it.
Read moreWe had as lunch deal some very hearty Mac‘n Cheese and from the menu the Vegan Haggis. Both very delicious! Friendly staff was attentive and convinced us to try the Vegan Biscoff Cheesecake… and it was a dream: creamy texture of the cheese but the highlight was the melted biscoff on top.
Overall a bit pricier than a lunch should be, but we think it was clearly worth it.
Pros: Almost everything is vegan , Lots of Mocktails available

Very good - Edit
Delicious food, nicely plated as well. Portions are not too big, but sufficient to fill one up. Everything gets explained very well.

Twist on Scottish dishes - Edit
We tried the vegetarian version of the Scottish “haggis”. Very nice. The starters were also good but not top notch as the main dish.

Great - Edit
In my option is the best vegetarian restaurant in Edinburgh! Staff is very friendly, the restaurant is nicely decorated. I would recommend trying the haggis.

Lovely fine dining in Edinburgh - Edit
The most amazing place we discovered in Edinburgh! Classy fine dining is just what we needed when we landed. Lovely tasty dishes, wide selection available for vegans and vegetarians. We ordered too much but managed to devour every little bit! Thank you.

Such good food - Edit
I had the vegan haggis and we split the special (some sort of crunchy cauliflower thing it was really nice). I've never had normal haggis so I can't tell you how it compares but I really liked it. The cocktails were lovely, had a really good range. Nice vibes too I really liked the feel of the place.

If I lived near this restaurant, I'd go broke - Edit
Wow. I had the haggis and I thought I would be similar to the rather tasteless patties I'd had elsewhere in the morning but no this was good enough to inspire poetry. I also got a side of the broccoli and seitan which was one of the best things I've ever put in my mouth. I can only assume the rest of the menu is as inspiring.

Lovely setting - will be back - Edit
Lovely setting and very friendly staff. The food was all very delicious. However, I felt very sick after and ended up vomiting once I got home (very unusual for me, hadn't vomited for over a decade before!). I'd really love to go again and I hope that was just a one-off "me issue" rather than the restaurant. We had the starter platter (hummus was amazing), shared haggis and the salads, and chips. My partner had the banana blossom but none of us were keen on that. I'd like to go back to try the £10 lunch deal with the macaroni cheese.

Food and service was too notch - Edit
Service was excellent, polite and attentive but not obtrusive. Food was delicious - we had a sharing nibbles board for starter with nuts, olive, some bread, and a hummus and butter bean dip (both delicious) - we asked for extra bread for this and this was given at no extra charge. For mains, I had the beet bourguignon pie- it was so flavoursome and the pastry was nice and light. My husband had the haggis neeps and tatties and thoroughly enjoyed it. We will definitely be back here again! It was ideal for a special occasion meal.

Nice but expensive - Edit
This is probably the most expensive restaurant I've been to in Edinburgh. The food was nice, and probably worth the price, but I think I won't go there again because of the prices. They also added an optional tips to the bill which I thought was a bit sneaky.

Cheesecake for the stars ✨ - Edit
Ok, so I came here seeking vegan haggis, which I’d been too scared to try when I last visited as a teenager. However, the server convinced me to try their lunch special, which was a selection of salads and soups. And then I had to have this caramel cheesecake — I was initially suspicious (see my previous comments on vegan cheese), but the creaminess and sweetness was absolutely divine.

Good quality food that celebrates vegetables - Edit
The menu was very exciting. Lots of flavourful options that are not typical choices for a vegetarian/vegan eating out. As always I would love if they committed to selling only vegan food. Staff were very nice and welcoming. Great history being the first vegetarian restaurant in Scotland.

Disappointed - Edit
VERY EXPENSIVE. Myself and my partner ordered a starter, a main and a pudding to share and it was £95 which automatically included a 12.5 tip. Starters were ok but hummus had a funny taste and was overly spiced. We left half the mains as they weren't nice. I am happy to spend good money on good food but unfortunately this was not it. The staff were nice and they fussed my dog but ultimately you go for the food not the people.

Delicious flavours - Edit
We were here sampling some food for an event I'm organising, and very excited at what's to come! The haggis dish was absolutely delicious and so creamy, the tagine full of sweet and savoury flavours, and their salads are very creative and filling. I only gave a 4 as I personally don't give 5 stars to vegetarian restaurants on principle. It's a lovely atmosphere though so would go here over a more casual vegan place if a special occasion or looking for more fancy dishes.
