Incredible Eritrean (Ethiopian) Food - Edit

The place is sort of a hole in the wall, not fancy, and you have to look for it if you don't know where it is. Super friendly staff, and the cook is amazing. We don't even order; she brings over a different vegan combo plate every time. Always delicious. Lots of free parking, and easy to get to, just off the Deerfoot.

Pros: Incredible vegan options., Very reasonably priced., Friendly staff.

Cons: They don't often follow their operating hours. , Often late getting open.

Why is this on here? They refuse to serve me. - Edit

I felt judged as soon as I walked in. When they finally approached me (there was only 2 other ppl in the restaurant btw), they didn’t give me a menu, but told me that they “serve South African food and that everything was spicy”. I said that was fine - I’m in an Ethiopian restaurant after all. When I didn’t leave, they said that there’s a “Filipino restaurant across the street”. Daaaa fckkkk???
Didn’t get a chance to try this place. Unless you are black, don’t bother coming here.

Wow. Can't imagine what happened here. Are you sure you are reviewing Hdmona? They serve Ethiopian food here which is definitely not South African. Food is a little spicy, but certainly not overwhelming. My wife and I are both white, and we eat here regularly. Almost always, we are the only white people in here, but the food is great, the staff is friendly, and one time, some black guy that was drinking at the bar, came over and offered to buy us a beer. Never once have we ever felt uncomfortable at this restaurant.
