Popped in for a dirty vegan - Edit
Popped in for lunch to have some dirty vegan spoil yourself kind of food. We were not disappointed. We will call in again when next in the area. Not far out from city centre. Good selection of Vegan sweets too. Fries were a large portion.
Read morePros: Excellent cheese alternative made in house, Great burgers and fries, Friendly staff
Cons: Spoil yourself but wouldn’t eat it every day.

Amazing vegan junk food! - Edit
We were pretty hungry when we got there and when the food came, it did not disappoint! My sister got the mac and cheese pizza, and I got one of the burgers, both were great!
Read moreThe star of show however, were the loaded fries which were amazing!! Glad that a vegan restaurant has opened in Oxford as it perfectly fills the gap for much needed vegan food around Oxfordshire
Pros: Friendly staff, Very tasty food, pretty interior
Cons: a little pricey (but I suppose it's Oxford prices)

Disappointment - Edit
I was super hungry and went especially from the center after two days on sandwiches. What a disappointment! Had the burger not been burned and terribly salty (!!), perhaps it would have been ok. The roll wasn't too good either, simple carbs. On the whole, it is vegan, but it is rather of the junk food type. I would have preferred something more homey. I ate it, but will not come back there.
Read moreThe staff were super nice and welcoming, they even offered me a cake when I said I didn't particularly like the burger (they had asked). The brownie was ok, I don't normally eat sweets. For the 12L I paid, I could have bought a truck of bananas...
On the whole, it is a shame, as I was happy to discover a fully vegan place in Ox. Maybe they can expand the menu? A baked potato with lentils would have been nicer.
Pros: friendly staff, vegan
Cons: pricey, too much salt, burned

A very VERY Happy Friday - Edit
Vegan fast food joints are very hit and miss but Happy Fridays have perfected everyones guilty weekend treat. My friends and I all ordered slightly different meals; I had the North Carolina Burger with cheeze fries, my friend had the Mac Daddy Burger, my other friend had the Buddha Bowl and we shared a portion of seitan tenders. The North Carolina burger blew me away, their bacon aubergine was gorgeous. I also loved the nacho cheese styled sauce I had over my chips, it tasted like the real thing (a hard thing to do). My friends Mac Daddy burger was also very cool, I managed to gobble down her leftover Mac and cheese (I reckon I’ll order this burger next time). The seitan tenders were also very nice with a yummy seasoning, perfectly paired with the aioli sauce that came with them. Next time I’m going to make sure my eyes aren’t too big for my stomach and make space for their divine looking dessert menu.

Some decent Vegan food - Edit
I've gone here a couple of times and it hasn't ever disappointed me. The first time I had the Chilli Dog, which was good, although I thought the bun wasn't quite right for it. Very crunchy, which made it difficult to eat. The second time I went I had the pizza and that was really good. Would definitely recommend.
Read moreIt's independently owned by a young woman as well so it's great to see how well she's done with the place and food.
It is a bit on the pricey side, but hey, it's supporting an independent vegan business so I'm happy to fork out the extra cash😄
Pros: Friendly Staff, Cute resident dog, Outside section for the warmer months
Cons: A little on the pricey side, Not central

B-b-b-banging! - Edit
Was in oxford for my friends birthday this weekend , we came here for lunch on the Saturday (she asked if there was anything I wanted to do whilst we were here, and coming here was my only ask) It didn’t disappoint- we both had the Mac daddy burger with loaded fries and ohhhh myyyy it was so good. My friend is omni and it was her first time eating anything like this and she said it was the best burger she’d ever eaten! She’s said each time I come visit her, we’re coming here for food! So we’re definitely coming back.

Hmmm - Edit
I regularly order from this place because it’s delicious and a little bit naughty. Yesterday I ordered the pulled jackfruit and quinoa salad and it was pretty unpleasant. The veggies were going off and the jackfruit wasn’t pleasing at all. It pains me to admit this because I really wanted to like it especially for £11 but it felt like a wee bit of a waste of money for the spoilt veggies :( sorry HFK. The rest of my order was yummy though! Shame about the jackfruit

Happy vegan comfort food - Edit
I was here twice in 24 hours, once for burger and fries and the second time for their brunch. I had the classic seitan burger with fries and it was lovely, though a little bit on the salty side. I also tried the French toast with blueberries which made a great Sunday breakfast. Good coffee, lovely atmosphere.

Overhyped but has promise - Edit
The food was very tasty. I had the full breakfast and my friend got pancakes with plantain, pb and blueberry compote. The seitan bacon was overdone, burnt and had no taste. Sourdough was also very dry. They had forgotten avocado which was supposed to come with the dish, and brought it when I was almost finished eating even though I mentioned this to the waitress almost immediately. Portion sizes could have been bigger considering the price. It was also very cold inside the restaurant which made our food cool down too quickly.

good food friendly atmosphere - Edit
Stuffed crust pizza was tasty and fresh and the chicken selects crispy. The staff are friendly and accommodating. Cute doggie Buddha running around lit up the place. The only down side is the price it is more expensive that most vegan fast food places I’ve been too but I feel this may be true of oxford in general. The cupcakes were amazing !

Visited for the first time tonight. Great food, lovely people, nice space! The burgers, bacon and mac n cheese (all vegan, of course) were really good and a really nice selection of beers and baked goods, too. If I lived in Oxford, I’d be here every week!

A great treat up the Cowley Road - Edit
I've now visited the Happy Friday Kitchen three times, each time being more enjoyable than the previous.
Read moreI love the choices this restaurant has made. The junk food is suitably dirty, with cheesy chips, hot wings, meat(less) pizza with stuffed crust (!) and chunky burgers all available to order. The seitan seems to have gotten even better since the start, and the most recent time we visited we could also enjoy a beer or two :)
The staff are lovely and seem to really care about you enjoying your meal.
I hope the restaurant continues to do so well, best of luck guys!
Pros: Vegan :), Tasty junk food , Great menu selection
Cons: I get excited and order too much everytime :(

Amazing vegan food!! - Edit
This restaurant is a game-changer - the first fully vegan place in Oxford (a city with such a thriving veggie/vegan community) was bound to be a success but the food is even better than I ever imagined! The food is delicious - I've been twice with my omnivorous boyfriend who loved it, especially the macaroni cheese! The burgers are insane. It's the first time I've tried seitan and it's done wonderfully here. Also the sweet treats and cakes look brilliant - we tried the oreo brownie and were not let down!
Read moreThe atmosphere is really nice, including an adorable little dog which is friendly but doesn't interfere with your meal! There is a vegan pic n mix stall at the back of the shop and shelves of vegan sweets etc, with an amazing variety of things that I've not seen anywhere else.
It's a bit of a long way down the Cowley road if you're coming from town/North Oxford but it's well worth the trip! A little pricey but again I think it's worth it for such amazing vegan food.
Pros: Excellent food, Friendly staff, Great dog!
Cons: A little bit expensive, A long way from the centre of town

Best food in Oxford - Edit
Finally Oxford has a fulltime 100% vegan restaurant/cafe! Food is a good mix of California-style junkfood treats like seitan burgers with delicious fries, stuffed-crust pizzas, brownies and cupcakes, and healthier buddha bowl options. As a new business it’s still finding its feet so at times the wait for food is longer than others, and they do run out of items now and then, however the staff are the friendliest you’ll find in the whole of town! They have Oatley barista for frothy coffee and hot chocolate. Also delicious organic green tea and a small selection of vegan sweets and treats.
