Yummy soup and great coffee - Edit
We weren’t expecting a lot as our meat-eating friends recommended we come to this place, but we loved it. We had soup and coffee and both were great. Wish we’d been there for the all-vegan Tuesday night!

Our favourite place in Queenstown - Edit
Halo Forbidden Bite became our favourite restaurant in Queenstown. We have tried so many new specials than never before. You can enjoy 2 or 3 courses (entrees, mains and desserts) of vegan menu every Tuesday from 4 pm.

Incredible vegan friendly restaurant - Edit
We went to have breakfast at Halo and it was more than delicious. The lattes with soy milk were perfect, and we had the vegan breakfast (with extra scramble tofu) and the vegan burritos. Everything was excellent. Highly recommended.

good vegan options - Edit
I loved how they had their vegan items on the main menu and then had a little menu on the side that highlighted all the vegan items. made deciding so much quicker. fast service and lovely waiters. i appreciate that they used reusable straws

Vegan night at Halo - Edit
Lived in QTown for a year and came here several times for their vegan menu on Tuesdays.
Read moreJust to clarify- they still serve off their standard menu as well, so its not a vegan kitchen/space on tuesdays, in case this bothers anyone.
I'm conflicted as I loved their effort, interesting food choices and presentation....however the quality was inconsistent week to week, so it always felt like a gamble to go. Sometimes it was great, sometimes...not so great (eg small portions, burnt, overseasoned).
If youre in town for a tuesday and have time, definitely go and support them and generally the food was great, but would rather be honest!

Great vegan menu options - Edit
Has a vegan menu available every tuesday night. 4 choices of appetizers, 4 of main dishes and 2 desserts. We had the cauliflower and pulled jackfruit as appetizers: both very good but strongly recommand the cauliflower wings if you must choose! Had the udon noodle bowl and vish and chips for main, both good too. Portions are decent size and it cost us 60$ for all 4 courses. Staff and atmosphere pretty nice. Close to the city gardens if you want to walk there before eating!

Great Vegan Night Menu - Edit
Had a lovely 3 course evening meal here after coming across the "Vegan Night" blackboard during the day (we thought this was a one off but apparently it's every Tuesday). The sushi rolls were a bit dry but everything else was great and very thoughtfully put together. Great atmosphere (sitting outside) and fantastic value for the quality too.

Plenty of vegan offerings - Edit
Really happy I found this place - breakfast is served until 3pm and I arrived at 1ish, a little guttered about missing the day’s special of banana blossom tacos.... but hey, the vegan breakfast with tea and soya milk (almond also on offer) topped up with a peanut and chocolate ‘cupcake’. Lots of other cake options too. There is a separate vegan menu and all the options looked lovely. Would thoroughly recommend folks going in and giving this place a go!

Cons: Around the $20 per meal price bracket
