Fabulous food - Edit
We went to this restaurant twice because the food was excellent and always so delicious and well presented! We wish we had a place like this one closer to home. If you are in Bilbao you have to try this restaurant. Recommended: the hamburger plate or whatever the daily set menu is! Portions are generous so we couldn’t try any of the deserts unfortunately :)

It was an amazing experience - Edit
One of the best vegan meals I had in Bilbao. I would come back to this city just for Gustu. They have plenty of menu options as well as room for large groups! I ate my meal with a vegan wine Le naturel. It was really smooth and deep in flavor. It complemented the rich flavors of my dish

absolutely delicious!!! - Edit
Had the Menú Gustu Gourmet (for 21.50 Euros in a Friday night) and it was one of the most delicious vegan portobello risotos and crema de brócoli soups (w/ ginger and lime) I’ve had in my life. If I were here longer, I’d come here for dinner daily!! So good.

Genial - Edit

Beautifully prepared food - Edit
I had a delicious lunch here; it's in an interesting and developing neighbourhood a short stroll from the downtown. It's not cheap but then it's not street food. It's an elegant restaurant with carefully and effortfully prepared food in a lovely setting. It's a very popular place with locals and tourists alike so it may be worth a reservation. Very clean and healthy tasting food.

wonderful and cozy vegan place - Edit
What can I say? Gustu Bilbao is an amazing vegan restaurant!! We went there during the week and were warmly welcomed by the waitress who explained the menu del dia in every detail.
Read moreWe went there because we love to not have to choose between thousands of fancy options and have a simple daily menu instead, like in the rustical spanish bars.
There were 2 entrées, main and desert. Except of the main, you could always choose between 2 or 3 options.
Everything was prepared with love, tasted healthy and natural, not overspiced. Portions were decent.
We loved that we every guest was given a free jar of water without asking since we don't like to have sugary drinks nor alcohol with our food but often there are no options and paying for water feels kind of stupid.
I can only recommemd this place. Maybe consider going there on a weekday if your budget is limited, since the menu is way more expensive on the weekend.
Pros: healthy and tasty food, familiar & cozy place, free water
Cons: none

MUST TRY! - Edit
Vegans or not, go!
Read moreIt is hard to find but well worth the trouble. It wasn't near anything else we wanted to see/do in Bilbao. However as soon as we were inside I knew it would be great!
Not only vegan but reusable glass jars and wonderful staff! Great atmosphere.
When the food came we were blown away! We had the homemade cheese and cracker plate (I can't eat gluten and they had homemade seed crackers that were GF and added carrot sticks) It was so good we practically licked the bowl.
Our main meal arrived, and my husbands "No Chicken" Sandwich looked amazing, he said it was the best sandwich he'd ever had!
My plate of the day, had veggie balls and amazing creamy hummus-- it was lovely elegant delightfully filing and well presented.
For desert there was tarts and homemade banana ice cream for those of us who don't swoon for sweet.
Over all it couldn't have been a better experience and I am only sad we found it on the last evening, I wish we had eaten there for every meal.
Pros: Food, Staff, Vibe
Cons: Location

a good adress - Edit
Starters and main dishes was very good. The place and the service are nice. But we were disappointed by the dessert (without gluten) and found the menu too expensive (21€50 during weekend).

soooo nice - Edit
My husband and I went there while visiting my sister. It's a cozy restaurant, only women do. work there. They make you feel welcome. They heated the Food for our Baby girl and where very friendly. We had the Daily menu and everything was delicious: soup, salat, smoothie, quinoa. We highly recommened it!

wholesome fare - Edit
This place does what it says on the box. I tried this place as read it was run by a nutritionist. The meal was balanced and delicious. I went for the set menu which was 14.50 euros and unlike some other reviewers who felt the portions were too light, I could regrettably not eat all the food on my my plate. I had a miso starter followed by a delicious crunchy salad My main was rice with mushrooms, broccoli with sesame seeds and two what I might describe as croquettes as the menu was in Spanish a smokey seitan and breadcrumb coated tofu slither topped with a pumpkin puree. The dessert was a raw apple strudel which consisted of a chewy granola base topped with s spiced apple puree with grated Apple ( I will definitely be trying to recreate this dessert at home). I awarded 5 stars as this place is unpretentious and deliver exactly what they promise. My only "complaint" is that I was not offered a drink . I did however receive a carafe of tap water. .

A wonderful warming meal with miso soup, ume-shoyu salad, and a full plate balanced with millet, vegetables, zucchuni pesto, carrot puré and baked chickpeas... They also offer a good vegan burger with sweet potatoe fries, wraps(tacos) and a delicious apple strudel. Finich your meal with a warm kukicha tea.

Clean all vegan - sort of macrobiotic - Edit
Definitely try this place. They have a set menu around €11 which is always protein balanced. Very clean and healthy food - if a bit too much so - but many will appreciate that. Interesting fresh vegan desserts. Recommended!

Rico - Edit

Lovely - Edit
I´ve been to this place twice, and thoroughly enjoyed it. I appreciate the fact that they seem to take more risks than the usual traditional Basque restaurant, as they dare make use of seaweed, tempeh, miso, millet... not exactly the usual fare in Bilbao. In addition, staff are polite and helpful, and the majority of the food appears to be organic.. which makes the couple extra euros you will be paying compared to other restaurants totally worth it.
Read moreThe only minus I could think of is that you may not get full enough, but I pointed this out once and I got some extra food!
