Vegan menu (add egg if specifically requested) - Edit
There’s an option for most menu items to add an egg if you want but they don’t add it unless you specifically request it.
Read moreIt’s both a post by weight buffet and a regular vegetarian restaurant with many options. They know which fake meats have egg (one that’s deep fried and breaded) but most of them are vegan.
I ordered a curry coconut milk ramen. It has cabbage, Shanghai book choy, oyster mushroom, king mushroom.
Pros: English translated menu available, Generous portion, Pay by weight buffet

Great veggie and vegan food - Edit
Great restaurant for vegetarian and vegan friendly food. The owners are lovely, we were stood outside trying to translate the menu when the lady called us in and sat us down with an English friendly menu. We had the coconut curry noodles and I ordered the hot and sour hot pot. I didn’t realise the size but the portion is huge for the price and it was so delicious! There is so much choice of great food, I wish I had more time in Chiayi to visit again. Highly recommend.

Hands down best vegetarian food in Taiwan - Edit
Amazing buffet of varied insanely good vegetarian food and a super nice owner. They also have a menu of different vegetarian meals which we didn’t try but they are presumably delicious. Will definitely come back if we’re ever in Chiayi again.

Nice sit-down restaurant - Edit
*NOTE* this is not a vegan restaurant as the name says, but a vegetarian restaurant.
Read moreFound this place from google maps and it was easy to find. Staff were super friendly and let us try free samples of the radish cake. We didn't try the buffet and instead chose to order a few dishes. The "soup dumplings" weren't exactly what we expected, they were dumplings...in soup. Our fault I guess for not clarifying. Other dishes were good but not amazing. The staff were very helpful to point out what on the menu wasn't vegan.
The place was pleasant and clean. There seemed to be a pretty good business of people ordering buffet for take-away.
Pros: Lots of good choices on the menu or buffet, Staff were friendly
Cons: Clarify with staff what a dish is before ordering
