Great local spot for coffee + vegan friendly options! - Edit
So many awesome locally roasted coffee options. Milk alternatives are available, including non-soy choices. House-made flavor syrups are often vegan- ask the knowledge staff and they will fill you in. Same goes for baked goods, not always labeled vegan unfortunately but if you ask, there’s usually something delicious! The Herbasaur Jr. breakfast sandwich is an awesome vegan option.

Oatmilk Oatmilk Oatmilk - Edit
This coffee shop is the best in the region for vegans hands down. I always order coffee with honey and oatmilk and it's just the way I like it. All of the muffins are vegan and the blueberry is my personal fave. Today I had the vegan princess is in another castle sandwich. So yummy! Friendly small town vibes abound.

my favorite place to hang out in NWI - Edit
Really cool little place. The Curry-Age sandwich with tofu is absolutely delicious and always on the menu, and I haven't tried the other standard menu vegan option (the Garbobzo), but their rotating special sandwich often has a vegan version with their thin-sliced marinated tofu as the protein. I haven't come in time to catch the vegan breakfast option but it sounds delicious... a sandwich with tofu scramble & faux-rizo. Yum!
Read moreNon-dairy milk options are almond and oat (no soy). Lots of cool boutique blends from local coffee roasters and tea houses. Super chill, relaxed yet bustling atmosphere. Easy to park right outside on the street. Outdoor seating, too! Grindhouse is on one corner of a block with a number of other vegan-friendly shops (Relish, Lady's Gourmet Popcorn, Twincade) in downtown Griffith.
Pros: super tasty tofu on their sandwiches, 2 non-dairy milk choices, cool vibe

Options and good service! - Edit
There was one clearly marked vegan sandwich on the board (the Garbobzo, a chicken-salad type based on chickpeas tahini) and a curry sandwich with a tofu option, and when I ordered, the cashier offered that the daily special (Buffalo sandwich) also had a vegan version. When I asked about vegan baked goods, they were immediately able to identify which were.
Read moreThe Garbobzo was very yummy, and the ginger lemon snickerdoodle was tasty, if a bit oily.

I'd eat here all the time if I lived closer. Delicious sandwiches & salads. Very vegan-friendly. Their coffee is from Metropolis or Intelligensia -both out of Chicago & both exceptional. Huge selection of teas. Divine, fresh vegan baked goods at the counter. Ask which are vegan.

Great Food! - Edit
I never thought I would find a place in northwest Indiana where I could get tofu on a sandwich...but this is it. Always at least 3 vegan/vegetarian sandwiches that can be made from the menu. Lots of the goodies are also vegan (ask and they will tell you). Also, no additional charge for soymilk (take that starbucks and panerra)! Great place to have a block from my house, oh, and meat eaters will not be lacking for delicious sammies either...this place will make anyone happy!

Cons: Still serve meat
