A Truly wonderful veggie/vegan eatery - Edit
This not for profilt , ethical veggie /vegan reataurant is wonderful. An extensive menu and generous portions. I had the Govinda super special which was like an indian Thali, a mixture of currys, dhal, pakoras chutney , poori and rice. My friend who's not veggie had the cheese burger and said that the chips were the best they had tasted in a long time and loved the nut burger.
Read moreA lovely peaceful atmosphere , with really nice staff and it's just a step or two away from the main hub bub of the main shopping area.
Not only is the food great but you know it's truly ethical and the profit goes to running the business and charitable causes.

Definitely a 'Higher Taste' - Edit
Like the title of one of the cookbooks they sell in the restaurant, the cuisine here is on a level above the rest. We've been coming here for the last couple of years and I have now lost count of the meals we've eaten at Govinda's. I always leave looking forward to the next time we come back. Govinda's is often rammed with customers, many of whom are regular patrons. Their vegan Christmas dinners have become a Swansea institution, and they are so good we went there three times over the festive period. I could go on, but I think you get the picture. The cooks are really expert, and they, and equally hard-working Adam, who mans the desk as well as takes the orders and waits tables, conspire to provide the customer with the best meals and service. Divinely scrumptious! I am forever grateful!

Worth a visit! - Edit
As Swansea's only all-veggie cafe Govinda's is definitely worth a visit - especially if you're vegan as you're going to find it tough to find anywhere else to eat in Swansea city centre!
Read moreIn the past few weeks they have expanded the menu which is great, as there wasn't a lot to choose from before. You can now get double or even triple burgers and all-you-can-eat specials - if that's your thing!
Don't expect the best thing you've ever eaten, but the food is of decent quality and vegan cakes are usually available.
Pros: Good portion sizes, Reasonably priced, Friendly Hare Krishna staff
Cons: Sometimes too busy, Tap water tastes a bit funny

A very reasonable price for all food on the menu with a couple of vegan options as well. Always enjoy the food here - the only shame is that there aren't more places like it in Swansea! Highly recommended.

The vegan cheesecake is AMAZING - Edit
Went here May 2008, great little place. Very friendly and helpful staff. Relaxed atmosphere, and wasn't crowded when I was there, but I feel that is because I was there at an off-peak time, I think it must get pretty busy at other times. Veggie burger was lovely, as was the homemade relish, and cous cous salad. Chips were ok, think they were the pre-frozen kind. Menu had an ok to good choice for vegans, and vegan stuff was clearly labelled on the menu.
Read moreThe smoothies were absolutely scrumptious, but with out a doubt, the star of the restaurant was the vegan 'cheesecake'. If you are anywhere near I seriously recommend you try it. Heck, I travelled 100 miles round trip to try it, and it was worth it. Quite simply - it was *delicious*. Rich, decedent, morish.
Definitely worth dropping in.
Pros: Stunning vegan cheesecake, Good vegan options, Amazing smoothies
Cons: Portions could've been bigger
