Most of the menu is vegan and the chef is incredibly talented - this is food you won't find anywhere else.

A lovely, but very intimate experience - Edit
We really enjoyed our time spent here, both the food and the atmosphere were great!
Read moreI definitely recommend booking in advance, as the restaurant isn’t very big, and they get full quickly – we had to rearrange our plans of visiting them, because they were already fully booked the night we initially wanted to go (luckily there was a free table available the following evening).
The restaurant is a very intimate experience overall. The interior has a warm and cozy atmosphere (low lights, lots of plants), the staff is very friendly and helpful (there was a palpable closeness between them, they were happily dancing and hugging each other at times), and the food… well, let’s say some can’t really be shared without getting intimate, so go with your partner, or at best, with (very) close friends – but not for a business lunch. Because yes, most dishes are meant for sharing, but some can't be shared without sticking your fingers into them, or biting into them directly. For instance, the one that resembles a caesar salad in its ingredients is a huge, not split head of salad stuffed with soy yoghurt, herbs and walnuts, and you can’t really cut it up or divide it in any mannered way. No, you have to hold it with both hands and bite into it, like you would eat a hamburger (this isn't us having been clumsy, but the method of eating recommended by the staff). And if you want to share it (it’s BIG!), you’ll be taking bites from the very same burger-salad-head. I definitely wouldn’t be comfortable doing this with anyone but my partner.
Dishes are served whenever they are ready, so while some of them take more time to prepare (e.g. the mushroom tooma), you always have multiple plates in front of you. Everything we tried was great, and I’d love to go back again sometime in the future – for dishes I loved, and for dishes we have yet to try!
Pros: lovely atmosphere, friendly&helpful staff, savoury dishes
Cons: gets full easily, prices are definitely on the higher end

A really special place ! - Edit
We absolutely loved our meal at Goli on our first night in Budapest. The space is beautiful (small and cosy with an open kitchen), and the staff were so friendly and welcoming. We ordered a selection of dishes to share and they were all incredible, not only lots of tasty vegan options but also so accommodating for my nut allergy. Incredible cocktails too! Thank you for a wonderful evening.

Wonderful food and vibes! - Edit
I can see why this place is so highly rated! A must visit when you are in Budapest.
Read moreEverything in the top of the menu is vegan bar the meat section. The chef is vegan so the food is amazing!
The staff and very friendly and the vibes are so fun.
We ordered the olives, bread bag, mushrooms, Brussels, this potato thing which was (the best thing ever) and the cauliflower.
I would recommend the potato and the mushrooms as a mush have. The Brussels were a bit too hard for my liking was tough to eat. The cauliflower was quite plain just tasted lemony. So many other things you could have chosen on the menu!

10/10 meal - Edit
Everything we had was fantastic, with the bread and labneh being the top pick. It isn't clear what's vegan but basically everything is other than the 3 meat dishes. I enjoyed inside but there is some loud music so if that's not your thing maybe outside is better. The staff were very friendly and were quick to serve and answer questions. Definitely recommend if you're looking for a more elevated vegan dinner out.

A very nice restaurant, menus printed daily and as we had booked it had our name on the menu which was a simple but nice touch. Our priciest meal in Budapest but was an occasion so we wanted something special and Goli delivered

Israeli Tapas - Edit
Goli is a fantastic restaurant. It is also popular, so make sure to reserve a table in advance!
Read moreThe service was attentive, friendly and wonderful. All the small dishes on the menu are vegan. There is also fish and meat. I wish there were some more vegan protein-focused options like falafel or similar.
We sat outdoors and were a bit worried about being cold, but heating lamps and blankets made it not a problem at all. In fact, it was perhaps even better outdoors than indoors, as the music seemed quite loud indoors.
To eat we shared Labneh, two bread bags, hummus, smoked olives, black pumpkin, charcoaled eggplant and sage burning into grilled potato. My favorites were the hummus, the eggplant, and the sage burning into grilled potato. I would not order the olives again, and the bread bag contained quite little bread.
To drink I first had the Isfanah, which was amazing. Then, unfortunately, I had the Jerusalem. It was the worst cocktail I've ever had in my life. I could not stand the flavor. Maybe some people like it, but it was absolutely not for me. A shame really, because it slightly ruined an otherwise amazing evening. Only because of Jerusalem I am giving 3 instead of 4 stars. I have to rate my experience.
For dessert we had Booze which was tasty.
I'd be happy to visit Goli again.
Pros: Isfanah

Amazing! - Edit
Visited here on my first evening in Budapest after reading reviews on here. I was not disappointed!
Read moreAll of the top part of the menu was vegan as were all the deserts.
Two of us shared 5 small plates. These dishes were absolutely perfect. I especially loved the cauliflower and charcoal beetroot.
I then had a pudding because honestly the food had been so good it felt wrong to miss out. I had a chocolate mousse that was heaven!
So worth a visit!

Tasty experience - Edit
I loved loved loved it here. The must try is definitely the labneh and bread bag. Such an awesome combo. Labneh is creamy and a bit tart with a generous serving of olive oil. Breads are super fresh. I also had the cauliflower - massive portion, I would be well content with just the labneh. Would recommend to go as a group and share, however I did not have that option. Service is awesome, really such amazing staff. Great place for some kind of celebration, especially since price point is a little bit higher, but totally worth it. Finish with the mint tea after the feast😄Would give 5 stars (or more) if possible

Best meal on our European Tour - Edit
Great atmosphere. A lovely welcome at the door and personalised menu. There was a real happening vibe in the restaurant. The seats we had were overlooking the kitchen area so we were able to see all the meals being prepared. The chefs chatted to us and told us what they were making.
Read moreWe had good advice on how much to order and which items were vegan (all items on the menu are vegan except for the items under the title ‘best butcher in the city’. We were assured that as the chef was vegan there was no cross contamination because they took things seriously.
The variety of vegetable dishes was excellent. It was hard to choose which ones we were going to have! We were full to bursting afterwards!!
The ‘Sage burning into grilled potato’ dish was fascinating to watch being prepared and delicious to eat!
We enjoyed an entertaining evening. Thank you also for the digestifs (chillie and aniseed liqueurs). We wouldn’t hesitate to go back and have been raving about it to all our friends.
Pros: Fantastic vegan choice, Entertaining atmosphere , Knowledgable and fun staff

Delicious food with plenty of vegan options - Edit
We went here 2 nights in a row because we were so impressed! I had read all the happycow reviews and chose it as they also serve meat (my partner is not vegan.)
Read moreStaff were super friendly and it had a nice interior. The vegan labneh was INCREDIBLE! I wasn’t going to order it until the waitress confirmed it was vegan. The chef is vegan (was formerly a butcher) and wanted to open a 100% vegan restaurant but this can be difficult in Hungary apparently. The oyster mushrooms with polenta and the charred aubergine were also amazing. Highly recommend!!
Pros: Vegan labneh is a must try , Alot of choices , Different sized dishes so you can try a few
Cons: Tables on the floor are a little bit small, Music was a little bit loud at times

Not fully vegan but really celebrates veggies. All veggie options are vegan by default but then there’s a meats section.
Read moreV friendly service. Loved the mushrooms! Loved the playfulness of the menu. It is a little pricey but comparable to London restaurants. I’d want the chilli plate to be cheaper to allow us to add variety in flavours to the cauliflower for example. Deffo get the bread basket to soak up all the amazing flavours.
Pros: Celebrates veggies, Varied menu, Veggie dishes vegan by default
Cons: Serves meat
