Amazing! - Edit
I ordered takeout here while I was on vacation in Charleston and it did not disappoint. All I ordered was the vegan tuna salad on sourdough with tomato and onion added and it was sososo good! When i revisit Charleston I plan on coming back and trying more dishes because just the sandwich i ordered was slapping.

What to say about Gnome Cafe other than I’m obsessed!! Charleston is slim pickings when it comes to vegan restaurants. Gnome cafe is like a breath of fresh air. I can breath easy knowing that everything there is vegan and delicious. Slowly going through the menu bit by bit and haven’t gone wrong yet.

Great cafe! - Edit
Went to the Gnome Cafe because it was near the hostel I was staying at. I ordered the bagel sandwich, while my friend ordered the pancakes. We also both ordered iced matcha lattes with oat milk. Everything was delicious! My friend is an omnivore, and she was impressed by everything!

All day breakfast - Edit
I am generally a creature of habit and get the same thing from places once I find what I like but everything on the menu is so appealing that I try something different each time. It’s all do delicious. The staff is very nice and the setting is quaint. They play nice mellow music and everything is always prepared fresh. Today I’m lay l literally making a mail of sides and I couldn’t be happier.

Great Find! I went 2 days in a row. - Edit
This place is fantastic! I went with several omnivores, all of whom also appreciated the excellent food at Gnome. I had the taco salad, which was super fresh and full of tasty ingredients and the Reuben, which was equally tasty.

All vegan, great food, decent seating! The breakfast burrito was really good- it had mango in the tofu scramble! Unique and delicious. Needs a little salsa for dipping though in my opinion

Stopped there by chance and hit the jackpot! Awesome vegan food. - Edit
We had the veggie burger and the pad thai salad, as side the fries. Everything was outstanding! If you’re in the area, stop here! Friendly stuff and the waiting time was ok. We ordered to go. There are tables inside and also two tables outside.

Good Grits - Edit
Ordered the Reuben, Southern Grit Bowl (sub home fries for the tofu scramble), and side Caesar Salad. The Reuben was good but found it to be a little bit more sour than other vegan reubens I’ve had. The grit bowl was delicious - it was the first time I ever had grits and I really enjoyed them. Was not impressed with the Caesar salad and it also was missing the croutons that I believe it was supposed to come with.

Not bad - Edit
I did get something very simple. A cream cheese bagel, portobello bacon and a latte. It was good but its pretty pricey for what it was. I also wouldn't call the portobello bacon, "bacon". It was good but its not the same texture. It was just cooked mushrooms.

Great - Edit
Everything I’ve tried here is so, so good! I love the southern grits bowl, the bulgogi Korean bowl, the breakfast burrito, cinnamon pancakes, hemp sausage biscuit, veggie burger, mushroom blt, and the mac & cheese, and I love love love the taco salad and caesar salad. Their mac & cheese is actually the best vegan mac I’ve tried, hands down, and I’ve tried mac & cheese at vegan restaurants in Columbia SC, North Charleston SC and San Antonio TX.

Great food and coffee! They have a nice variety of breakfast and lunch options. I love their reuben sandwich and pancakes. Parking is tricky at this location and during busy times it can be hard to dine in as seating is limited.

If you haven’t had these Brussels sprouts, you’ve been wasting your life - Edit
5 star rating based on the Brussels sprouts alone! Whatever sorcery is going down with the sauce, keep up the magic!! The sausage biscuit was also excellent; Cesar salad was good but not a showstopper (not quite enough dressing, but I had extra Brussels sprouts sauce so that was obviously a win!!) My friend had the burrito and said it was good but needed more flavor. Service was good, people were kind, the space quite cozy so during busy times is best for people who really like people!

Awesome Breakfast - Edit
Everything was delicious, the staff was super friendly, what a great way to start the day. I also got the breakfast burrito to go for lunch on the way to Myrtle Beach, since fully vegan restaurants don't exist there.

Don’t miss in Charleston! - Edit
Visiting Charleston from out of town and came here 3 times during our visit. The first visit we ordered the Grit Bowl and Cinnamon Pancakes as well as specialty coffee drinks, then took a chocolate chip cookie and gluten free brownie to go. The next morning we stopped by for coffee again, then came back the following day for coffees and picked up a fresh cinnamon roll and a caramel ginger chocolate cup. Best coffee we had on vacation! Loved the variety of alternative milk options. Wish we had made it back for lunch while we were in town.
