Very tasty and many vegan options - Edit
I was very happy to see so many vegan options, it was almost hard to choose somethingšIn the end I went for pasta with truffles and it was SO GOOD! This is how I remember Italian food from Italy! Amazing that there is a place where it really tastes as good. I would give 5 stars if I could. Loved the food, loved how friendly the staff was, great place!

Finally a vegan Calzone - Edit
This Italian restaurant's menu has a few pages with vegan food only. For the first time of my life, I was lucky to get here a vegan Fagotto al forno, which is a type of Calzone, for 13,95ā¬ with vegan cheese for a extra charge of 2,50ā¬. I found it really tasty! I have had a vegan pistache souffle for 6,75ā¬ as dessert, which was also quite nice.

There is a very extensive vegan menu, with multiples entrees, pasta's, desserts, and a pizza. Since I didn't feel like having pasta or pizza, I opted to combine four entrees. I ordered marinated olives, bruschetta, oven-baked eggplants with pesto and tomatosauce, and baked mushrooms with garlic. Everything was super delicious, although the mushrooms lacked garlic and had added chilipepper, which was a bit too spicy for me. I had the pecan souffle as dessert, which also tasted really great. I was completely stuffed and satisfied at the end of the meal. It was very warm in the restaurant however. Servers were friendly, and the price was reasonable (but a bit pricey if you want to combine entrees).

Huge selection of vegan options! - Edit
Gaspare is simply the best italian in Holland for vegan food (as far as I know!). Come here very often and have tried almost every vegan option, they're all really good! The staff is very knowledgeable, even when it comes to which wines are vegan. Would 100% recommend!

Vegan pizza - my place to go! - Edit
I love how normal it is for this italian place to offer vegan dishes. I absolutely love the pizza. So this is my go to place whenever I want to pick up some pizza to eat in the parc. They are quick, but also quite agitated sometimes; it's a busy place.

Gaspare is wonderful. All their pizzas can be ordered with vegan cheese and their separate vegan menu includes some tasty pasta and vegetable dishes. The best place for vegan dinner in town.

All vegan pizza's vegan! - Edit
They currently updated their menu. It's now possible to order every pizza you like, vegan style. They also offer some pasta's with vegan cheese. Last time I went there, they also started serving vegan wines. It gets better and better. Lovely place, with real italian food.

What a gem! - Edit
After hearing and reading enthusiastic reports about this place from fellow vegans, I finally went here myself, together with 2 friends. And we were not disappointed! The very friendly staff showed us an extensive vegan menu with options for all courses (and a great vegan desert which was not even on the menu). We ordered different things and shared, but it was impossible to try it all. Everything was delicious. I loved the place right away and will be back soon (and bring them a Happy Cow window sticker).

Nice restaurant that also serves meat/fish-courses. We were told by the cheff that he is a vegan himself since 7 years now.
Read moreThe last page of the menu has only vegan options (9 starters, 10 first courses and 3 second courses; they got sorbet as well on a separate menu). You can also order the pizzas with vegan cheese.
In the two times we went here, we had the eggplant-rolls as a starter and the pizza Melanzana (vegan cheese), ravioli filled with asperges (not yet on the menu) and pasta with mushrooms, truffles and "vegan" parmezan. All dishes tasted great, especially the last one.
Conclusion:
great place, where I would love to go again whenever visiting Leiden.

Read moreWe came here with a group of 10 people, and they asked us pretty soon if there were vegetarians or vegans among us. For those of us who were, there was a separate menu with many different options. They even had the option of pizza with vegan cheese.
I finally chose the aubergine rolls, which were lovely, and the penne with small chuncks of soy. After that, the waiter asked me if I would like a vegan desert - they had one option, something with chocolate - but I was too satisfied already and just ordered a cup of tea ;)
The others in our group, those who ordered meat or fish, were also positive about their meal.
Especially in the city of Leiden, this is a nice option to go to. I don't know why I didn't discover it before.
