Enjoyed our evening meal (moving mountains burgers) very much while doing the C2C and the breakfast the next morning was great (beans on toast w tomato) - they even also had soya/oat milk. Organised and professional bar staff.

Separate vegan option so you don't have to go hunting the menu for them - Edit
As a vegan, it's standard to comb through a menu looking for options, so nice to have a separate section. I had the burger, it was a double. Then vegan ice cream for dessert. Northern portions too. My family were very full when we left.

Visited yesterday and had a pleasant experience eating in the pub. I had the vegan curry which did pleasingly appear to be home made but did lack flavour, like it was a mix of coconut milk and curry powder. Veganism is pretty hard in these parts though so was glad to be fed. My partner had the vegan burger and was sad it did not come stacked in a bun like the meat ones. Vegans won’t go hungry here but it’s still a bit bit mediocre.

Really nice, unpretentious food at the Fox and Hound Inn. They had 3 fully vegan options! But as a non veg, the meals with meals were lovely too. Warm and inviting atmosphere.
Read moreIf you are driving up to Ennerdale from the coast, take care in the dark as you must drive through cattle, horse and sheep fields. We encountered sheep and cows in the dark on the way home.
