Where Are You At Getting Terribly Fat? - Edit
A proclamation from Willy Wonka was the rather odd - and admittedly worrying - start to my experience at this restaurant. As I was escorted to my table by an Oompah Loompa (obviously), past Charlie and the Chocolate Factory-themed stations, my trepidation rose exponentially. Surely somewhere with such a painfully kitsch facade couldn’t possibly cut the mustard in the culinary sense, could it? The answer, quite emphatically, was yes. By the time all was said and done, having invoked the spirit of Augustus Gloop and gorged myself on the simply stunning spread, you could quite easily have rolled me out much like a rotund Violet Beauregarde.

This was a brunch that, despite initial appearances, was stacked with a wide array of premium dishes - the phrase “all killer, no filler” would be remarkably apt.
Even in the most unfortunately named section - which housed the salads, ‘Veruca’ - the sheer quality to be found was quite astonishing.
Of all the wonderful things I sampled, there were a few that truly impressed and that I found myself returning to time and again. The plant-based cottage pie, a fantastically novel addition, delivered meatiness and heartiness in equal measure, the dim sum were consistently fresh and borderline addictive, and the hummus was outrageously smooth, velvety, and flavourful. However, it was Thai green curry that garnered the greatest affection. A near-perfect balance of creaminess and piquancy, if I’d just had that alone, I would have been a very happy customer.
My recommendation of this place couldn’t be more ardent. The fact that I was already planning my next visit before I’d even left tells you all you need to know.
