Very nice, very expensive

Really tasty vegan options, but we spent almost £50 on 2 breakfasts and 2 hot drinks

I don't get this place

The cafe is huge but there are only three basic options on the menu: avocado toast, tomato toast, and hummus bowl. These are all vegan but animal products can be added. I didn't try any of them because honestly they sound boring. The "fresh plant based concept" in the description on Happy Cow is buzzwordy and a bit misleading; there is definitely no "fresh concept" here.

There are also some pastries and desserts at the counter, including chia pudding, vegan coconut yogurt I think, and a vegan brownie. The vanilla pastry is also vegan but other pastries are not.

The staff was a bit chilly, but overall it was a nice place to sit and warm up and the vanilla pastry wasn't bad.

Private event review

We had a private dinner event here, I don't think they are normally open for dinner, but I thought a review might be helpful for other vegans.

Our food was good! It was simple but interesting and had great flavors. Service was a bit slow (though our group was large), and we didn't get a description of what any of the courses were.

The main is something I can only describe as a deconstructed avocado toast in a bowl! Strange, but it worked and tasted great!

Great understanding of vegan

They had vegan options for everything, including hot chocolate with whipped cream.
Avo toast, tomato toast or hummus bowl as well as banana bread and a granola and yog pot.

Pros: Great options, Great knowledge of veganism, Great atmosphere

Tasty!

Such lovely food, tastes so fresh and flavorsome! Loved their coffee - they have a selection of plant milks and syrups. They have 3 meal options, all vegan but can add vegetarian elements like eggs. Lovely staff and atmosphere, defo recommend!

Nice cafe

Nice and modern cafe with good coffee and a vegan cake! The cake was very tasty and I had a gingerbread cappuccino which was good! I also saw some vegan options for food like hummus bowl and a sandwich.

They also had some board games which was nice

Tasty chickpea cake

I went there for a matcha latte and lunch. But they only had an avocado toast that could be vegan.
And for dessert they had a chickpea cake, that was delicious.
It was ok but really pricy.

They betray themselves

First, pust WAS probably the best place in Tromsø to get some good vegan brunch.
Additionally, I have to say that pust started as a fully vegan café but as now they have 1 vegan dish and 2 small vegan pastries - everything else is with animal products.
Their avocado toast is still superb. They have a few warm vegan drinks and 2 vegan pastries. However, I would love if they would go fully vegan again (they were in the very beginning). Also, it would be great if we don't have to pay extra for plant milk.
It can be very crowded on the weekend and you might not get a table. They regularly increase the prices while decreasing the quality.

Edit (06.02.24): They removed half of their vegan options, therefore I had to change my rating to 2 stars. I also don't like that they move towards more and more esoteric stuff - tarot cards etc. It feels like some rich people pretend to care for the environment and mindfulness. I cannot recommend going there anymore.

Edit 14 8.2025: It gets worse, the prices and quality is horrendous, don't go here. Rather go to Narvesen or 7/11. It's really bad.

Pros: avocado toast, some vegan warm drinks, 2 vegan pastries

Great veggie spot in Tromso

This cafe is fully vegetarian with 3 vegan menu options, chia pudding, avo toast and lentil soup, vegan cakes, and plant milks. I wanted the lentil soup but sadly this was sold out. I had the avocado toast and a vegan blondie - both were delicious. Staff were very attentive and the cafe had a nice atmosphere.

Cozy veggie cafe with friendly staff and vegan options

As far as we could tell this was the only vegetarian place in Tromsø, and surprisingly it was a big place with lots of seating, it was quite popular which is good.

Three vegan options available on the menu, avocado on toast, chia pudding
and a soup. We tried the avocado on toast which was amazing and the chia pudding which was absolutely lovely.

Lots of vegan cakes available, we tried the blondie and a vanilla pastry. The vanilla pastry was as good as any non-vegan pastry I’ve had before. There was also apple cake and lemon cake available which we didn’t try.

The staff were really helpful and gave us other recommendations of where to eat in the area.

Lovely place

Stumbled on this lovely cafe while trying to get out of the awful weather. So glad we did! Plenty of vegan options and the waitress was very helpful (and also vegan 😜).

Pros: Number of options, Atmosphere , Knowledgeable staff

Cons: Not the cheapest (but it is Norway!)

Some vegan options but quite expensive place

They had some vegan options as soup, avocafo toast, chia pudding and one vegan pastry, not best options but at least something in Trømso. The place is expensive so be aware of that, almost 200 nkr for dish.

Pros: Vegan options

Cons: Expensive place, Dirty tables

Not that many options

Fairly limited vegan options. I ordered the lentil soup, but they’d ran out - ended up with the avocado toast instead. It came with cherry tomatoes and pickled onions. It was really tasty but a bit small, especially for the price. They also charge for milk alternatives, which is a bit disappointing.

Few vegan alternatives for lunch

Kind staff and nice interiors. Even the quality was good. But just a sandwich as vegan alternative for lunch and even expensive is not what we aspected us from a so nice cafeteria #Veganuary

Pros: Nice staff, Nice interior, Good quality

Cons: Few vegan alternatives , Just a sandwich as only lunch alternative , Too expensive

A disappointed loyal customer

Unfortunately I can't give more than 3 stars to Pust. The quality of the food is really good, but they keep removing vegan options. First they changed from fully vegan to vegetarian, then they removed the vegan brunch menu leaving only the avocado toast and a couple of pastries. There's barely anything vegan left now. Too bad because the concept is cool and the people are nice, but it doesn't meet my needs anymore.

I have to lower my rating to 2 stars. The avocado toast is now almost 200 kr and the last time I went I got a slice that was literally 8 cm long and 5 cm wide. This is honestly a joke.

Really nice cafe

We enjoyed breakfast and coffee at this cafe, it's was very cosy and you could watch the world go by in the window seats. Veggie and vegan options available. It used to be called Pust but has recently changed owners and names according to our tour guide. Nice spot for some food whilst exploring the city :)

Cosy (renamed Fint Cafe)

What's better than to sit down with a coffee in a cosy cafe after a hike in the snow after the sun has set? Fint has a nice atmosphere, perfect for sitting down with friends or to go solo and enjoy a book. They had a lovely oat latte and vegan wienebrod. The menu offers several other vegan options :)

Now renamed Fint Cafe!

Very nice chill vibe and cozy seating. A few vegan options including lentil soup, chia pudding and vegan blondies. Oat milk is available in drinks but does cost 6kr extra. I tried the soup and it was delicious!

I love pust, but…

… recently you charge extra for oat milk instead of cow milk. Are you buying Happy Oats or what? It’s outrageous and very upsetting… therefore 3 stars, but only because I expect better from you. what can you do to change this? What can we as community do?

Otherwise, Pust is the only fully vegetarian café around, and even if I wish they pushed for fully plant-based like they did before, they have my respect and kudos for making a positive impact.

Pros: Does many cool things, jams, events etc., Nice hip cozy atmosphere , Fully vegetarian, with varied vegan options

Cons: Extra charge for plant-based milk… puh!, Charge you extra for oat milk

Some vegan options

Pust is a sweet place to be in. I went there two times, first time they had a vegan chocolate muffin with cream and a raw blueberry cake - both delicious. They also offer vegan milk.
I also had a smoothie. Second time they didn't have anything vegan, but made a fresh smoothie for me.
They also offer an Avocado bead which looked very good

Dont go for dinner

Cute cafe and staff/vibes were nice, but didn't have any vegan options for dinner (they don't serve the breakfast/lunch menu all day). Would have definitely come back in the morning if I had time though.

Cute Café with some vegan options

It’s a cute coffee shop that offers plant-based milks for drinks, avocado toast or vegan blondies and cronuts. I had a vegan flat white which was good and a blondie that was okay. The atmosphere is nice for studying or reading as well.

No options

No vegan options besides avocado toast, they do have plant based milk and the staff is very friendly. The atmosphere is nice as well but don’t go expecting much for vegans
