Not Quite A Wonderwall

Looking for low-cost, quality satiation, I turned to this outlet of a business that had fast become a favourite. Customarily peerless in their offerings, I hope to receive more of the same here, yet unfortunately, it wasn’t quite to be.
The sandwiches, as a collective, were excellent. Aside from some quite bizarre (and wholly unwelcome) chunks of lemon that punctuated a few of these otherwise wholesome, well-filled pockets, I couldn’t have been happier.
From there, it was quite an average affair - nothing inherently wrong, but not as stellar as I come to expect. A dish that encapsulated this encroaching ennui more than most was the usually nuanced sautéed tomatoes. Whereas previous iterations had a subtlety and finesse to them, this incarnation forewent delicacy in favour devilishness by exponentially increasing the ratio of chillies.
Also not shining as brightly were the falafels. They still hit passable status, but were much drier than what I had come to expect; even the stuffed variety suffered in this regard.
Finally, the hummus. Here took a turn back towards the status quo as it was dependably creamy and luxurious, though I will say that I didn’t see the value in the adornment of nuts that opted for on a whim. Costing nearly twice as much as the superb regular variety, I don’t feel I got adequate return on my investment.
Knowing what I do of the franchise, I would be minded to chalk this order up to merely this branch having an average day at the office. There were still genuine positives in what I had, and I won’t let this assumed off-day mar the prospect of returning for more.
