Three marked vegan options (pad thai, tacos and sushi) - Edit
They've improved since the previous reviewer wrote about it: They now have two marked vegan options. Not as good as they used to be, but no longer a one star restaurant. But the new location is really far away from the center.

New menu, new location, vegans stay away! - Edit
I was in this restaurant many times, since it used to have quite a lot of vegan options, clearly stated on the menu. So I would have given them maybe 4 stars. But now...since they moved to the new location (on the hills, impossible to reach without a car) they also changed their menu...no more clearly labelled vegan options, no more vegan burgers...no more french fries...I found two possible options, having to read all the ingredients and to ask to be sure. Vegans probably are no more welcomed. It used to be the best vegan restaurant in Lugano. Last time for me. Bye bye.

Not at all bad! - Edit
Having read some of the reviews on TripAdvisor, I was a bit scared of eating there. However, the staff was extremely friendly and nice and the service was quick. I had the vegan indian dish, two different currys with rice, and everything tasted good. It wasn't comparable to an indian restaurant, but still... I was pleasantly surprised! I would definitely eat there again.

Options available - Edit
For being a non-veg restaurant they do offer a good amount of veg options and they are all marked on their menu.
Read moreNice concept of offering foods from the different parts of the world. As for the quality of the food however I would describe it as average, it was rather bland, cannot comment anything bad about it but also nothing positive...overall I was not impressed.
Pros: vegan options, food from all over the world
Cons: average food quality

A find for this city - Edit
Lugano can drive you nuts with the lack of dietary variety, especially if you're vegetarian. In another city Etnic would be no big deal, but in this town it's a huge find. Three of us could eat vegetarian—vegan, even, if we wanted—with some actual vegetables, and with flavor and variety that wasn't Italian. The prices were typical of Switzerland, and service was friendly. In a city with this much great outdoor seating something was lost sitting inside, but not too much.
Read moreNote that the restaurant runs a little take-away place just outside the Quartiere Maghetti, but the main restaurant is inside the Quartiere. So if you find a tiny little store, ask them for directions to the restaurant proper.
Pros: lots of choices, understands vegan vs. vegetarian
Cons: location lacks a bit of ambiance, food was decent, not mind-blowing

Some good vegan options - Edit
This place does serve meat. Apparently they have a pure vegan take out in the day but I didn't try that and instead went to the restaurant in the evening. They are very vegan friendly with good vegan labels on each of the dishes. I felt there was a good range but i opted for the vegan burger and fries. All was pretty good - the bread bun was a bit dry I felt. But nevertheless i quite enjoyed my meal.

Great vegan food in the middle of nowhere - Edit
(sorry Ludanonites for calling your city in the middle of nowhere.)
Read moreWe drove into Ludano for the sole purpose of being able to say we were in Switzerland, and this restaurant was quite the find! There was a bit of a language barrier, so I couldn't completely figure it out, but I believe they have a kind of buffet lunch, and additionally a restaurant at night.
We had the buffet, which included 4-6 different dishes at different prices; an amazing soup which I had to ask the chef to write down in Italian what grain it was so I could later look it up (it was buckwheat); and this great celery root dish with tehinni. Plus there was healthy coke.
Highly recommended!
Pros: vegan, good value
Cons: location off beaten track
