Amazing cafe led by an amazing Sanctuary - Edit
Cafe that belongs to ASH which is an amazing organization that has a sanctuary and helps all kind of animals. They're vegan because their love to animals and they make sure to tell people that all animals are equal, not only dogs and cats.
Read moreThe cafe is nice, you can find cool desserts, sometimes they've lunch. All the money goes to the Sanctuary. There're always a bunch of lovely animals such as dogs and cats that are there to be adopted. You can play with them while reading a book, or drinking your coffee, I love it!

I wanted to spend my entire trip here! No pressure from people who work there. Very chill. Loved playing with dogs and cats. Can buy some pet toys treats collars leashes T-shirt’s.

We enjoyed a sandwich here on our first day in Montevideo. Not many options for food, but what we had was tasty. This is an animal shelter/cafe/gift shop with locally made items as well as pet supplies/and used book and clothing store. The people are friendly and you can spend time with the animals on site.

Ok so the food options are limited but you don't go there only for the food but for the animals, the thrift store, the shelter shop, the cat room. You can spend the whole day there just reading and playing with cats. It's a magical place.

A nice space supporting a great cause - Edit
Espacio ASH is an unusual blend of three elements: animal welfare center, shop, and cafe. To reach the cafe part, one goes up the stairs, passes through the main room of the animal center, and then into the very comfortable and pleasant cafe.
Read moreThey serve some of the best vegan desserts I found anywhere in Montevideo. And I really loved getting to meet about a dozen sweet dogs and cats and share some affection.
Tip: You might need to flag someone down for service, as they may be busy with other things, but once I did so (walking into the shop and asking — politely, of course) they were very warm, helpful, and friendly.

I felt unwelcome. - Edit
I visited this place a few days ago. It seemed to be a joint cafe/pet shop. There were dogs and cats roaming around in there (which was nice) and three ladies sat on the floor (which was unexpected.) When I asked about food, they seemed uninterested and motioned toward an unappetising looking cake stand. I felt uneasy and unwelcome so I left.
Read moreAs a side note, I don't agree with Happy Cow's rating system. “One star is automatically granted in support of fully vegan or vegetarian restaurants." Fair enough, but that doesn't explain why two stars is the minimum that I must award.

All vegan food :) In the same place there is a store that sells t-shirts, mugs, pet toys and so many other things! All the money of those items go to an animal sanctuary called Animales Sin Hogar. You can also go and pet some dogs and cats that are waiting to be adopted ❤
