Best breakfast bowls 🥣

We came here for every breakfast since we discovered the great smoothie bowls. Creamy, fresh, perfect. We loved Midnight Sun and Dear Elli Bowls, gonna miss them.

Pros: Great bowls, Relaxed place, Friendly staff

Nice place

We got a falafel bowl (nice, liked the puffed rice, bit dry) & a tofu and mushroom scramble (they mixed the two together and the mushroom overpowered it). Staff were nice. Very popular place with westerners

Hidden Vegan Gem

Loved the quiet, family-owned place offering a peaceful oasis and a great falafel salad bowl with crunchy brown rice. Ellie even made me fresh mango juice that wasn’t on the menu because it was in season. Went back a second day to try the vegan brown rice noodle bowl. Delicious! Ellie added her homemade vegan rolls, fresh lettuce & micro-greens, brown rice noodles, squash, cucumbers, peanuts, and topped with her homemade peanut dressing. So yummy and filling, costing around $2! Her vegan iced coconut coffee was the perfect end to my brunch. Would add a 5th star, but Happy Cow doesn’t allow if non-vegan food is also served. Highly recommend!

A tranquil, niche-like sanctuary

I had the falafel bowl, and the 'Dear Ellie' smoothie bowl. Both were excellent. The first bowl had a really good combination of texture, flavour and colour, coming with quinoa, chickpeas, hummus, lettuce, and shredded carrot, cucumber and cabbage. I was offered more of the side sauce, but the balance was perfect as it was. The smoothie bowl was wonderful - mango, banana, dragonfruit, coconut milk and what seemed to be (really good) home-made granola. The team were super-friendly, and the whole experience, tucked away in the little sunny courtyard among the potted plants, felt like I was really being looked after.

Pros: Lovely, peaceful setting, lovely staff

Ok

The atmosphere was great, lovely little place. Dishes were smaller than expected and I didn't leave full.
The scrumbeled tofu had waaay to muck bell pepper and just tasted like it.

Hidden gem

Beautiful small cafe & restaurant tucked away next to the old town. So tranquil and picturesque and run by the most friendly and helpful local people.

The menu is all clean eating focussed with all dishes apart from one catering for veggies and vegans. I’ve been many times now - each dish is so amazingly tasty and fresh! Can not recommend Ellie’s highly enough.

Pros: Healthy / clean eating food, Amazing quiet setting , Friendliest staff in Vietnam

Ellie's Cafe is Amazing!

As a traveling vegan, she makes it easy! Any smoothie bowl you want, you can get dairy-free, and the menu clearly labels items that are vegan already. Perfect for breakfast or lunch, this is vegetarian heaven for a Westerner! Serves: Overnight Oats, Smoothie Bowls, Buddha Bowls, Salads, Avocado Toast, Tofu Scramble, FRESH Juices, Coffee/Americano, etc. ♡ Cafe is also not too far from Old Town. They do have a few meat options, maybe 1 or 2. Eggs, also. Ellie is so welcoming & compassionate! This became my go-to for weekend breakfasts.

Pros: Lots of Veggie/Vegan Options, Perfect Garden Getaway , Friendly Ellie is Compassionate

Cons: No Dining Past 2PM, Serves 1 Meat Dish, 5 ☆☆☆☆☆

Smoothie & buddha bowls

A few items on the menu are already vegan, if not they can accommodate (swap with cocnut/soy milk, etc.). They speak English so it's easy to communicate.

Had the sweet potato bowl the cacao smoothie bowl. The flavorur was very nice - not too salty/sweet or oily. A decent place a 'Western' brunch.

Portions are bit too small for the price tho and the coffee could be much better.

Pros: Smoothie & Buddha bowls, very friendly,

Cons: Not many vegan options, a bit pricey, coffee

It’s ok but not much on offer

Just a few items on the menu, not fully vegan so not really for me.

Pros: Good mango chia pot for breakfast

Cons: More expensive than other places, Not much choice
