Wonderful Community Wholefood Shop!

Dyfi Wholefoods is a bustling and dynamic wholefood shop based in the historic market town of Machynlleth. The shop has been in its current larger premises since 2022.

All the products in the shop are vegetarian or vegan, and they offer a range of fresh, frozen, dry, and chilled foods. Dyfi Wholefoods also has a refillable products section, which includes refills on shampoo, conditioner, hand soap, shower gel, laundry liquid, and washing up liquid- you just need to bring your own bottle! The fresh foods consist of fruit and vegetables supplied by the local company Blodyn Tatws and breads baked by another local company, Rye & Roses.

Dyfi Wholefoods had everything you'd expect in a health food shop and then some. There was a decent sized personal hygine and home cleaning section, in addition to more miscellaneous items such as artsy cards and quality socks. The range of jarred goods such as preserves was impressive, and the shop stocked the biggest variety of tahini I have ever seen on a shop shelf!

There was a large double freezer and about four fridges, and they carried some vegan products that I have never seen before, which meant I, of course, had to buy them! Some examples of these items are Fry's 'Traditional Burgers' (I have only ever seen their chick'n products in shops) and a delphi Black Olive Homous (I have tried a lot of their products so I was thrilled to have found this!). I also got two flavours of Tyne Chease (Ethiopian Spice and Classic Smoked Apple), which is a UK based artisan cheese brand whose products I have only ever seen through online ads, so I'm super excited to try those!

As a vegan shopper, my only quibble was that vegan and vegetarian products were mixed up within each section. I understand placing products together (such as crackers together, chocolate together, cheese together, etc.), but I couldn't spot an order within these sections which meant I had to check products I was not familiar with for a vegan label or read through the listed ingredients.

Dyfi Wholefoods is a must visit for vegans who find themselves in or even just passing through Machynlleth. It's a great shop that is sure to have something to offer every vegan!

Pros: Extensive Range, Eco-conscious, Great Staff, Local Produce, Stocks Small and Large Vegan Companies

Cons: Lots of Eggs and Dairy Around

Lovely little food store

Dyfi Wholefood is a 100% vegetarian food store that also sells many vegan groceries. Regarding the rather small size of the store the range of products is quite big. You can find general groceries, fancy snacks, drinks and household items among other things. I can highly recommend Dyfi Wholefood to anyone who wants to shop more consciously,

Pros: Inc. many vegan groceries, Friendly and helpful staff

Cons: Rather pricey at times

Great little shop

This is a great little shop, very friendly staff and a very good choice of products. The Shop is 100% vegetarian with a very good choice for vegan/raw vegan/ gluten free costumers including some vegan local beer.
It is located in the centre of town with parking available nearby.
The prices are very fair and the quality is very very high.
I highly recomend to pop in and have a look.
The shop is a very important part of Machynlleth community.

Pros: Centre town, Good prices

Cons: On Wednesday no parking due to market, minimum £5 credit card
