Absolutely phenomenal breakfast bagel.

100% have to try the ‘Just egg’ ‘cheese’ and ‘sausage’ bagel here. Beyond delicious. Best breakfast by far we have found in NY and tried MANY places before this amazing find. Yum. Staff lovely and friendly. Also remembered our coffee order from the day before. Very sweet.

Little gem in the subway

I'm so glad i heard about this place through HC! We stopped by for a quick lunch before getting on our bus back to Maine. We tried the Prosciutto sandwich & the Breakfast sandwich.
Both were very good.
The service was fast.

One of my favorite spots

I work in the area and have to go through Columbus Circle station pretty much every day. Every time, I have to restrain myself not to come in and grab like five different things. They have so many vegan options it's mindblowing, and they even change their offerings seasonally so it's not the same stuff every time. The workers are really sweet too, and super considerate. Love this place a lot! They deserve 5 stars!

Pros: The most vegan friendly cafe in the area, The vegan prosciutto sandwich is incredible, Extremely friendly and reliable

Cons: Wish they were fully vegan so I could rate 5 stars

Actually downunder (under street level)

Chinese-driven takeout, a few seats in middle of aisle/walkway in front if store. Friendly staff; in subway station 'downunder', so
e vegan items. Apricot-almond bars, cookies, muffins.

SO MANY OPTIONS

Super friendly service and an absolute ton of options for vegans. I was so impressed with the amount of baked goods, sandwiches, sweet treats and drinks that they have at this awesome little location. The workers are always super friendly and helpful and it’s conveniently located in this really cool Turnstyle Market near Central Park.
As a mother of a three-year-old, I can say I was totally stoked to see that they also had vegan cake pops – so was my kiddo!

Hit the Spot

Down Under Coffee has tasty drinks and a respectable amount of vegan options, ranging from breads, cake pops, muffins, breakfast sandwiches, and regular sandwiches. The Turnstyle location isn’t for everyone but it’s definitely convenient. The interior of the actual store is quiet and cozy. I’ll definitely be coming back next time I’m feeling a snack or breakfast on the go.

Coffee place in a subway station

This place is located in the Turnstyle Food Court located below ground right before the entrance of the Columbus Circle subway stop--it essentially feels as though you are in a subways station (though it is located before you insert your Metrocard to take the subway). To find this place, go to the north end of the food court. There are a bunch of other food places in the Turnstyle Food Court, but as of now just one other vegan-friendly place (Pressed Juicery).
The coffee here is very good, and they have a bunch of vegan pastries and some vegan savory items as well. It is ideal for takeout to go to nearby Central Park, or to get some takeout coffee and a pastry before going to nearby Lincoln Center or Carnegie Hall. There are some places to sit and eat in the food court itself as well, but do remember--this is in a subway station, so the surroundings are naturally not too pleasant for a relaxed coffee break.

Pros: Good coffee, vegan pastries.

Cons: In a subway station
