Food was Fine, Service was Horrible - Edit
Ah, I really wanted to like this place. It has a very cool vibe even though it’s pretty small. The food was fine, nothing special, but the service was horrible. The server was fabulous, but he was clearly the only person serving the 6 tables of customer and it took far longer to than it should have to take our order and bring out chips.

They had a vegan menu!! - Edit
We ordered a buffalo cauliflower burrito! And I got a side of their vegan street corn! And because we went on cico de mayo, they were giving out free tequila shots. I don’t do shots so I asked for the alternative which was a churro. The churros they were giving out were not vegan so I asked for a vegan one and they were able to get me one. They do serve them with a vegan chocolate sauce which they didn’t get me with the freebie, so I ended up ordering one. With the chocolate sauce, 10/10!! So good! Highly recommend this place! I would definitely stop here again in the future.
Read moreThe only think I would say that was kinda annoying was the server did seem confused at what vegan was for a moment. I kept explaining and he talked to the kitchen and made it work but it did have me nervous. Especially reading old reviews but everything we had was vegan and delicious!

Cons: Waiter seemed uninformed at was vegan

A Bit of a Miss - Edit
I went to this place so excited to find a cantina with a separate vegan menu. My family and I ordered a variety of things and they were all a bit of a miss. We had carne asada nachos (made with Beyond Meat which I generally avoid), elote, Bahn mi tacos and papa verde tacos. Nachos weren’t great and just lacked cohesion. The elote was way too sour, and Bahn mi tacos were just a bit weird. We weren’t fans of their salsas either. The papa verde was the best thing we had. They definitely take a unique approach but just not a home run for me. It was quite overpriced for what we received and the service unfortunately was very slow the night we were there.

There are two menus for this restaurant and the backside is fully vegan. The food is very good, if you go during happy hour you can get really great deals on tacos and drinks. Love this place!

Delicious Vegan Menu - Edit
It was amazing to visit Dilla Libre and have so many vegan options to choose from! I opted for their vegan California burrito, and it was incredible. Their chips, salsa, and guacamole were all delicious as well. They were having some computer issues when we stopped and service was a little slow because of that, but the staff was extremely friendly and helpful, and they even gave us free churros for the wait (which were absolutely amazing too!). I would definitely make an effort to stop here if I return to Phoenix.

A separate vegan menu with great options! - Edit
Looking at the photos brings back memories of how delicious the Carne Asada fries, in particular, were. They used Beyond mince and it was SO tasty! I couldn't stop eating it even though I was getting so full.
Read moreThe tempura cauliflower was good, the tacos were nice and crispy. The side dish of pickled carrots and cabbage was surprisingly delicious. The chickpea chorizo was literally just chickpeas coated in chorizo seasoning I guess? I wouldn't bother with it, it really didn't give chorizo vibes.
The bottomless chips came with a very tasty house salsa, I kept smashing that as well.
I think the waitress refilled twice!
To top it off we got the churros with Mexican chocolate sauce. The churros were a lot thinner and crispier than I am used to, it came with ALOT of sugar and cinnamon, which I dusted off. The chocolate sauce was a little dark flavoured.
Pros: Carne Asada fries, chips with house salsa

We had lunch here today after reading reviews on our local vegan Facebook page. It did not disappoint! The atmosphere is wonderful. We ate on the patio near the fountain. They had an extensive vegan menu. The Vegan Carne Asada Fries were amazing! We’ll be back!

This place has a “traditional menu” and a vegan menu. Tons of options here for vegans. The place is small so if you can’t get a table, just order for carry out!

unique offerings of quesadillas, bowls & burritos. love that they have a vegan menu and regular one, great to go with non vegan friends/family. vegan elote was 🔥, plus the napoleon dynamite quesedilla and hot chick bowl with buffalo cauliflower.
Read morethey use beyond meat and vegan cheese but forgot to ask which brand. if you’re not into the more “processed “ vegan foods, this may not be for you. food took a little while to come out but it was really yummy! also out of vegan churros☹️ but i’d go back just to try them and something else on the menu. 💃🏻

Wish I could give it 5 stars... - Edit
Exceptional. You're greeted by colorful and fun artistry on the exterior and walk in to a quaintly decorated barrio style interior with the option to seat yourself in the outdoor patio with a fountain. I was there during happy hour and had the place nearly to myself, only two other tables had diners so perhaps the service was exceptional because it was easy, but... the service was exceptional. Very friendly and upbeat. Ordered the California Vegan Burrito. Fantastic taste, good portion, no skimping. Full back side of the menu devoted to vegan options... kind of wish I could give it 5 stars but I understand what Happy Cow is trying to do and I agree, this place stands out though in spite of offering meat options. Will go back every time my travels bring me to Scottsdale.

Fabulous, unique Mexican food! - Edit
Separate vegan menu! Knowledgeable server about best vegan choices! Great drinks! I had a pear margarita that was perfect. The Mac daddy dilla (vegan mac and cheese and chickpea chorizo quesadilla) was delicious and so creative. The chickpea chorizo tacos were flavorful and a definite repeat! Even the salsa and chips the server brought upon greeting us was impressive. Our teen is not vegan and had a great omni options, so it’s a wonderful choice for a mixed group. Indoor and outdoor seating available.

Overflowing quesadillas - Edit
My mom and I came for dinner, we both each just got one of their “dillas” it ended up coming to about $40. The food itself was exactly what it says it is- a quesadilla stuffed full with a bunch of toppings. I got a vegan one and my mom get a regular one; the regular one seemed far more put together than my vegan one but it was just food that makes you feel a little bad about yourself afterwards. Probably wouldn’t go back but it was an interesting culinary experience.

Pretty good. Order a dilla! - Edit
We stopped here bc we moved near it and wanted to go somewhere within walking distance. My sons each ordered the plain cheese kids dilla, and my husband got the Napoleon. They were all pleased! Unfortunately I went with the chickpea chorizo taco and it was inedible. First of all, I felt nauseous when I eat too much oil, and asked the server if it was oily. She said no, but the potatoes in the tacos are just fried potato chips, so obviously oily and I wish she had mentioned that. However, the bigger problem was that the taco “meat” was sooooo salty that it was inedible. I do not have a sweet tooth and am a total salt lover, so when I say it’s salty I mean it’s SALTY. I took the left overs bc I hate wasting food, but sadly just ended up tossing them. Major bummer. The only seasonings were chili powder and SALT. The margaritas were good. We will be back bc we are in the neighborhood, but I’ll steer clear of the tacos!

It’s refreshing going to a restaurant and having a full vegan menu to look at! They are very knowledgeable about all their vegan offerings, and there are many. They use Beyond meat (not Impossible as stated in the description), and Good Planet cheese, which is so good! They also have chorizo made from chickpeas as a veg option and their tempura cauliflower is the best I’ve ever had. I would give 5 stars if they would allow it. Eat here, you will love it.
