My happy place - Edit
I'm so devastated that I don't live near Chester to frequent this place as it is absolutely my vibe!
Read moreFirstly, the decor and the music were a bit of me! I felt like somebody found my mp3 player from 2006 and put it through the speakers and sprinkled in some of my Spotify top artists.
The staff were all really down to earth and friendly, and nothing was too much trouble.
The cocktails were delicious, and I was over the moon to see I could have a spicy margarita, my favourite!
I was torn between the vegan taco options as both sounded delicious. I opted for the tempura tenderstem broccoli tacos, and they were to die for. I had the corn ribs on the side, which were naughty but delicious. However, I don't recommend for a first date as there is no dignified way to eat what I had because everything was so juicy and messy 🤣
This place made my alt-kid/elder emo heart and tummy very happy.
Pros: Good selection of vegan options , Tasty cocktails, Cool atmosphere
Cons: Too far away from South Wales!

Vegan Friendly and Metal AF!! 🤘 - Edit
Found myself in Chester for the first time in a while, and I knew exactly where I wanted to go to eat. This place looked incredible from their socials and had great reviews. I arrived at 12 pm, and they had a sign up saying they wouldn't be open by 12:30 pm, and after 20 minutes of waiting, a decent queue had started to form.
Read moreWe were quickly served, and the food came out as each dish was ready, and we were not waiting long. The food looked amazing on the plates and tasted even better. I struggled to choose between two incredible sounding vegan tacos (Sweet Potato or White Bean and Vegan Cheese) but went for the former, and it was utterly delecious. I also had a plate of vegan Veggie Nachos, and they were the best nachos I have ever had. As they seem to put as much effort into drinks as they do their food, I also had a Millions of Peaches cocktail, and that was also super tasty and well presented.
The staff were so on the ball and really friendly, and the place was so well decorated. I was getting lost in how much cool stuff there was to look at, but the crowning jewel for me was the music. There was a great mix of music on from System of a Down to the Distillers, and it felt so good to be eating somewhere that is to music I love rather than pop music or covers.
I will absolutely be returning to Death by Tacos and highly recommend it to vegans who are looking for something a bit different, are metalheads, or are after tasty Mexican grub!
Pros: Great Atmosphere, Good Music, Nice Staff, Good Menu, Vegan Options Labelled, Great Food, Good Vegan Choices
