I’d like to start with saying I am still grateful for the big variety in vegan food, but the taste isn’t what I remember from 12 years ago.

The vegan stoofvleessaus is extremely salty.
The burger just disassembles out of your hands leaving them covered in ketchup. Taste is ok, maybe I’ll try another one some day.
I had to throw away half of the fries, most of the sauce and left with a pretty dissatisfied feeling. Staff is friendly though. Hoping for improvements in the future.

Qua verwelkoming van vegans is het een super frituur. De mensen zijn heel vriendelijk en de bediening is vlot. Het is wel een heel populair frituur, ik was onder de indruk van hoeveel mensen hier waren op een maandag. Super veel vegan opties. Mijn grootste minpuntje is dat de frietjes niet denderend zijn, ik heb al betere vegan frietjes gegeten. Ik veronderstel dat dit aan de keuze van olie ligt? Het schijnt wel dat de burgers heel lekker zijn dus daarvoor ga ik misschien nog eens terug.

Liked the fries and all the options for vegan snacks and dips. It was ages since I had fries with snackbar snacks, and this did not disappoint! Especially the bitterballen and kip/chicken thing were very nice. The cheese thing/kaasskroket I would not necessarily recommend, it tasted very potato-y (tasted good, but just not like cheese). The patty of the burger was good, and the bun and salad were snackbar-worthy. It delivers what it promises, great when you're feeling like a fatty snack/meal. We had to wait a LONG time; busy and popular! There was however plenty of seating space upstairs.

My non-vegan friends and I went here and left absolutely satisfied and satiated!!! Not only the fries were super crispy but also the portions were hugely generous (we order two extra large portion as we did not know they were THAT HUGE). Besides, well priced for what usually Belgium prices are lol

We hadden als midnightsnack een paar kleine dingen genomen: de vegan kaasballetjes, vegan ham-kaaskroket en de vegan kipcorn special met vegan samourai was heerlijk. Echt een aanrader! Je krijgt ook veel saus.

The kipkroket was really delicious and then the stoofvleessaus…soo good. It was my first stoofvleessaus and I cannot compare it to the meat version but damn…it’s good.

We bestelden een gewone en grote vegan friet stoofvlees met vegan mayonaise. De frieten waren enorm overdadig. De stoofvlees was heerlijk met vleesvervangers. Het was wel gewoon een frituur met boven sober ingerichte ruimte met tafels en stoelen.

Excellent place if you're in need of the classic Frituur experience, with a wide range vegan options including burgers and other snacks. Fries are decent, also come in large portions, even when choosing the small option. Not expensive either.

I had chips with vegan mayonnaise and it was spot on. The portion was huge. It's easy enough to find and the vegan options are well marked on the board. Apparently it's well known as the best frituur in Gent and it was very busy.

Wide variety of vegetarian/vegan options, from the small bites (broccoli croquettes, vegetarian bitterballen) to burgers (pumpkin, mushroom, hazelnut). The fries are very good and there's a great variety of sauces as well.

Super cool place! I was looking for a place to have the typical Belgian fried food feast and this place was more than adequate. They have loads of vegan options of dips to go with your fries but also of other things like burgers, falafel etc. I'd say about half their menu is vegan and everything is clearly labeled. Also, the portions are huge: we had a large fry for two and a burger each and couldn't finish all of it. And you get all of this for a very fair price (2,70€ for a large fry 90 cents for a dip).

I haven't been to the location in Ghent, but have eaten their fries on several occasions at vegan music festival Ieperfest (which has been al vegan since the start , more than 20 years ago).

Read moreI wished the portions were smaller. I read through the reviews here and many mention the portion sizes are enormous and that they had a hard time finishing it. As someone who eats more than they should I tend to not listen to advise like that. But really: a „small“ serving of fries was enormous. Since we were hungry we ordered a burger, the vegan bitterballen (not up my alley) and the small fries. We had to throw half of the food away. While looking to other tables - everybody was throwing food away because the portions are too big. I wish they would warn you at the counter or at least offer something smaller and when you would come back with an empty tray give you more fries for free. In a world where there is too much waste of food it really made me sad to see all these fries go to the trash...
