highly recommend - Edit
cute small cafe/ restaurant with a delicious selection of pastries and seasonal menu items. there were only 2 hot meal options and went decided on the roasted sweet potato and chilli soup. and it was the best soup we have ever eaten out. so simple, creamy and incredibly tasty, and came with a phenomenal fresh sourdough. all was well priced. id highly suggest the pain au raisin! i’ve never had a vegan one before and it did not disappoint.

Popped in to grab coffee and a few pastries. Had the mushroom salé and a muffin. Picked up a white sourdough loaf. Enjoyed all four products!

Gorgeous! Highly recommended. - Edit
On our trip to the cafe today they had a fixed menu of red pepper, tomato quiche with crispy kale on a cucumber and mixed leaf salad with a caeser dressing for followed by black forest gateau and morello sorbet. Delicious, fresh and beautifully tasty - using seasonal and locally sourced ingredients. The atmosphere was lively but calm with great music and the staff were super attentive and helpful - they even gave us tips on what to see in the town.

Love it - Edit
I first came to The Cradle on the 26th January 2019 for their supper club with my family.
Read moreI'll be honest, I can't remember how the food was back then as it was quite some time ago, I do remember the food being nice though and the atmosphere cosy.
About 1.5 years ago we moved to the area and frequently visit. We love their supper club and attend on special occasions, and their cafe during the day is always nice as well. We frequently go for their pastires and a drink.
It's not "cheap", but then again these sorts of places usually aren't. They use local, fresh produce and the menu is constantly changing which is great as there's lots if variety.
My family and friends have also been brought a long on several occasions (who aren't vegan) and they enjoyed it equally.
Great place, staff are super friendly, dog friendly, good atmosphere.
Pros: Great food, Big selection, Friendly staff

Cradle me cradle - Edit
We had a lovely lunch in Cradle. The food was beautiful and unique. I felt like I was taken on a journey from the allotment to the plate. Only I didn’t get extremely muddy but extremely happy. What more could you want? You’ll be rocking with diverse flavours and nourished by the rainbow. You’ll leave Sudbury with a spring in your step.

Amazing food and the kindest staff - Edit
Fabulous supper club. Every course was delicious, the staff were very friendly, and the environment was relaxing. Took a pain au choc home to try afterward - it was perfect! I work at a non-vegan bakery where I can no longer eat the pain au chocs so Cradle was a brilliant find. Will definitely visit again.

Thank you for bringing a piece of France to England! - Edit
I can't give enough praise to the high quality pastries and coffee! The shop was very busy (which is always a great sign) so we weren't acknowledged for a while after arriving.
Read moreWe really enjoyed the food though and it was a wonderful surprise to find another French vegan in such a small village!

This is quite a small vegan cafe, seating can be limited. Lunch is really just one option (one starter, main, desert) but there's also cakes and pastries.

Food was really tasty and the staff were all very good, my only minor complaint was all the plastic plants. A vegan cafe should be all about real plants!

Read moreThe pastries were delicious. We couldn't decide so shared a selection and they were all as good as they looked. They're very filling pastries!!
I'd absolutely come here again. They appear to do all they can to reduce food waste and help the economy/community (eg the chai syrup comes from a company who provides employment to refugees, and their cider is made is made from wasted apple)
Pros: Delicious breakfast pastries , Great ethos, Good atmosphere
Cons: No other breakfast options than pastries
