tasty food, but the hidden charges on the bill make it a big no. Besides, the food is expensive here already. Stay clear! (see all their google reviews for more details from other guests)

We came to Constantine's Ark through Happy Cow reviews and were not disappointed. We had several of the vegan options between our large group and they were all great. I particularly liked the spinach dish and stuffed eggplant. They even provided gluten free bread for two of us. The waiters knew what vegan was and which items were gluten free. Highly recommend.

Falafel here is worth trying if you’re after something not too heavy. The falafel is flavourful and soft. Not dry at all. A little bit more expensive but it probably evens out with the complimentary bread, olives and tea.

Read moreThe meze were listed in the vegan section of the menu, but this only seems to mean they can be veganized and you need to mention that you want this. We didn’t and so got some yoghurt-based meze.
They added a 160 lira “VAT” item to our bill, which we later learned is a typical tourist scam. Unless explicitly mentioned otherwise, menu prices already contain VAT.
All in all, tasty food with caveats.

Vegan menu is not vegan. Complimentary bread likely contains egg. Servers promise vegan but do not know what that entails. I am honestly as shocked as other reviewers are about how this has high ratings. The food wasn’t very good and it was extremely expensive. The waitstaff was very friendly though.

The restaurant staff are very friendly, service was excellent and the menu has its own vegan section. The staff are also knowledgable about veganism and advised us on alternatives to make dishes vegan. We came here last year and this visit was just as good as we remembered.

I had the chef selection mezze which had eight different dishes. Perfect as an appetiser for two or main for one. There was complimentary bread also and after the meal we were given tea and a dessert. The service was friendly and the food came out really quick. The decor is impressive and the menu on tablets was a bit different but the vegan and vegetarian categories made ordering much easier.

The food was delicious, the location is very close to the touristic centre, and is reasonably priced.
The waiter gave me a free vegan dessert to try, which was also incredible, and free chai.
Cant recomend this place enough.

In a meat focussed country a whole page of veggie options plus vegan choices is a breath of fresh air. Good friendly staff, excellent falafel, and some proper chilli sauce! Very helpful and the baklava and tea rounded things off well. Recommended

It is overpriced and the vegan menu is not vegan. There is cheese in the dumplings, for example. I don't know why this is highly rated on Happy Cow. Expensive and not worth it.

We are here twice after struggling to find decent options this side of the river. The staff were so friendly and looked after us so well. They will make changes to the food to make it vegan and are so accommodating. We got free tea at the end of each meal and a special desert on our second visit of sweetened pumpkin which looked like Turkish delight and a sweet tahini sauce. They have a lovely cat too, Sasha.

I definitely recommend this place if you visit Istanbul. The food is delicious, place is comfy and beautiful. In addition to that staff is very kind and helpful. It’s easy to choose from the dedicated vegan menu but you can also ask the staff, they seemed to be confident when it comes to vegan foods. Also received free appetizer and a wonderful apple tea at the end.

Very nice cosy restuarant. Food is fab and the staff really help. The vegan menu isn't really a vegan menu, it's vegetarian, but the staff are helpful with taking out egg and dairy. Like others have said they still put mayo on the plate which is a little weird. The food is ace though and very tasty! No vegan desserts which is a shame
