It would be more accurate to say they have a vegan menu with non-vegan options. The pierogi are excellent, and the coffee is pretty good.

Great service and great options. Vegan sweet and savoury options. It’s in civic right down the road from sweet bones cafe. I liked the avocado toast. The coffee wasn’t so good (Sorry too strong) the cakes were good. And the food is filling.

Really friendly staff and tasty, attractive vegan food - Edit
When I moved to Canberra last year, Coffee Room was my first vegan pitstop. The staff are super friendly, especially when Lucy is in. The food is high quality and made fresh.
Read moreEverytime I visit, the menu has changed. Which means I can't partake in that delicious meal I had last time! I miss the duck pies!
Over the past year the menu has gone from very vegan friendly to only somewhat vegan friendly to not vegan friendly and then back again. It's been a bit of a rollercoaster.
Pros: High quality vegan food, Friendly staff
Cons: Sometimes understaffed so service is slow

Vegan menu gone, slow service - Edit
Updated review: The vegan menu has gone and there’s now minimal vegan food on the menu. There is avocado on toast but not much else. Coffee was quite good but service was slow. Staff couldn’t tell me if hot chocolate powder was vegan or not. Listing should perhaps be removed from HappyCow given lack of vegan options. I won’t bother going back, a shame given that the old vegan menu was great...

I had the vegan pierogi and it was delicious! My friends enjoyed their vegan burgers and scrambled tofu. The staff were really friendly and helpful and were happy to make me a vegan iced mocha with vegan icecream.... this was great too. I’d love to work my way through more of the vegan options here.

I have been to this cafe a few times and everything I have tried has been great. I finally got to try the pierogis and they were amazing! The staff are also very friendly, I arrived close to their closing time but they were still really accommodating. Service is not the fastest so be aware if you're in a big hurry. The great food is worth waiting for though.

We always come here for brunch whenever we visit Canberra! Sometimes we drove all the way from Sydney just to come here. Great selection of plant-based foods, awesome service, and most importantly beautiful food!! If I could give it five stars I would.

Awesome vegan cafe with options for your omni friends! - Edit
I came to this cafe after seeing it on happy cow and was amazed i’d never come in before! Huge portions and excellent quality! I got myself a Big Breakfast wrap and treated myself to a coffee and cake as well, it was delightful. Fun and cool vibe.

Big Vegan range & friendly service! - Edit
On a visit from Sydney so popped in here (after seeing it on Happy Cow) for lunch and it didn't disappoint! When we walked in it was very quiet, just one couple sitting at a table, which made me a little nervous as everywhere else seemed buzzing but once we tried the food, we felt like we'd found a best kept secret! I had the gf banana, chocolate toast and my partner had a burger. Both generous in size and tasty! My soy (bonsoy) chai was perfectly sweet and he loved his soy latte. Friendly service, will definitely be back!
