Worth waiting for if there is a line... Dishes were full of flavor and filled us up. We got the rice noodles with coconut sauce and fried tofu as well as the special of the day which was tofu and veggies in a fresh orange sauce. It is nearly fully vegan except for a couple of clearly marked items which were vegetarian

We walked by this place and the restaurant was packed inside and outside with a line of people waiting to get in. Good sign, so we came back later when the line wasn’t so long. It appeared that Chum Chay is popular for good reason. Excellent Vietnames food. Mostly vegan and some vegetarian options. Big portions, fast service, friendly folks. All good!

The menu is quite small but more than sufficient. Everything we ordered was delicious and the prices are fair. However, the dishes contained coriander which wasnt mentioned in the menu so if you dislike coriander I'd advise you to tell the waiter

We went for some food and never got to eat because staff was extremely rude. We were told not to sit outside because it could rain (it didn't). We sat inside and before even ordering we asked to move to a table outside that had just freed up. We almost had to beg to be allowed to move and were then signposted to a much more uncomfortable table than the one we had requested. We asked to move to a bigger one and were told those were for larger groups (we were 3), but many of those tables were occupied by two people. They also had screens to turn a larger table into one for more two groups. Ended up leaving and whilst walking out were then offered the larger table to make us stay. We spoke to three different people and they were all rude and unhelpful. Cannot speak for the food though, as we never got to eat. I can say however, that there are some other lovely options around, which are friendlier and less busy.

We stumbled upon this place by accident, but I'm never one to skip the chance to eat a good bowl of vegan pho! Service was super fast, outdoors space was cozy. I had a summer roll and a bowl of pho. Both tasted really good, I ordered the big pho, and it was huge. Will visit again next time we're in Köln!

One of the best vietnamese places I have been so far. There were loads of options. We picked a bun and a wok with a sweet and hearty sauce. For starters a banana blossom salad and summer rolls. Every bite was amazing, it tasted very fresh, and the portions were large. The service was friendly and the wait was very short.

This place was great! There was a long line out the door when we arrived, but the staff was very efficient and we ended up being seated fairly quickly. Our noodle dishes were amazing and priced quite reasonably. We're only in Cologne for 2 nights, but may have to make a second trip back here! There is a English menu available. I believe it's cash only.

Maybe our expectiations were set too high after reading the reviews on Chum Chay. We thought the food was not great. A lot of the dishes have food coloring and taste enhancers (MSG?), and we thought the vegetables weren't very fresh. Maybe other dishes taste better (maybe one without msg.., it is stated on the menu what dishes have food coloring and taste enhancers). The food is not too expensive though.

Absolutely lovely place, with amazingly tasty food, cozy atmosphere and friendly staff. We were served even though we arrived fairly late and had a glassnoodle salat with tofu, super fresh and well seasoned. The menue has lots of vegan options. Definitely recommending it!

Cute little place with great food but always overcrowded and sometimes overbooked, so no relaxed atmosphere although the restaurant could be. Service is mostly stressed but friendly. Perfect for take away or a quick stop (with reservation).

I loved the food there (banana flower salad with tofu). It tasted really great and was enough for me though it was labelled a starter. They also were very fast. The only thing I didn´t like was that the homemade "juice" turned out to be rather a lemonade with lots of sugar in it.

Das Essen ist überwältigend lecker und überwiegend vegan. Im Sommer ist der Innenhof sehr zu empfehlen. Einziges Manko: der Laden ist immer sehr voll und die Bedienungen darauf bedacht, dass man schnell zahlt um neue Gäste bewirten zu können. Daher eher ein Imbiss für ein schnelles Essen - nichts für einen längeren, gemütlichen Aufenthalt. Trotzdem ist das Essen immer frisch, die Portionen sehr groß und alle Gerichte sind immer ausgesprochen lecker und die Atmosphäre sehr urban. Toll nach einen Einkaufsbummel!
