The Chickpea food truck served Mediterranean-inspired plant based food since 2016. Now, Chickpea has expanded to a 90 seat restaurant on Main Street. New dishes, chill vibes, child friendly and a great bar/night atmosphere with live shows, local beers and wines on tap. Late night menu. Open Mon-Thu 11:00am-11:00pm, Fri 11:00am-12:00am, Sat 10:00am-12:00am, Sun 10:00am-11:00pm.

Chickpea fun - Edit

This is a fun, active kind of place. The menu is fairly large, with many food options. The portions are large, the food is quite heavy and filling, and overall the food is tasty. But we found the hummus to be very thick and creamy, which is not the way we like it. And it needed seasoning. Otherwise, we enjoyed the meal and would return for more!

Pros: Ambiance, Portion size

Cons: Hummus consistency / seasoning

Dissapointed - Edit

Burnt hard balls of falafel. Hummus was average. Wait staff said it usually comes like that. 😐

What a Time to be Vegan!! - Edit

As the description alludes, we visited Chickpea and were blown away! Amazing food, unique vibes, this place hit all the spots. We decided to order a sweet and savoury plate, so opted for the French Toast, and the Shnitzelonim Hummus Plate. Beautiful presentation for both, and who knew crispy tofu could taste so good?! We loved how the menus were presented in comic books, and we spent the time waiting for our meal eating up some Asterix and Obelix. Highly recommend for anyone wanting a good time out, or simply a mid-afternoon snack. We will most definitely be back!

Pros: Flavourful Hummus, Great atmosphere, Very Family Friendly

Amazing flavours - Edit

We visited Chickpea within 2 weeks of its opening day. Because I had seen the line up, we decided to arrive as soon after opening time, to ensure we got a table!
We were the second party arriving and the place filled up pretty fast!
The menu is extensive and flexible, you can pick and choose what you want and the options seem endless. We chose to go with the platter and picked the gluten free options so got extra chickpea fries.
I got the schnitzelim which was some tofu slices coated with GF breadcrumbs and came with sweet potato, avocado, hummus, salad and chickpea fries. The portion was generous and the flavours excellent. There were tahini sauces containers if we wanted to add other flavours. My husband got the same platter but with cauliflower instead and it was also very tasty. I have already picked what I want to try on my next few visits so I know that I won't be bored with the menu!!
If you like middle eastern food, you must go to Chickpea where all things chickpeas are celebrated!! I am also super excited that the restaurant is 100% vegan, a recent and welcome change to the Chickpea brand. Judging by the popularity of the restaurant, it looks like it is not missed!!
Thank you Chickpea!!

Pros: 100% vegan, Excellent flavours, Friendly owners and staff

I'm delighted! - Edit

I headed on a stroll through the city when I suddenly saw the food-truck which I recently liked in my new app called HappyCow! As a flight attendant based in Germany, making healthy food choices is a must for me! And I have to say: THIS WAS DELICIOUS! I expect this quality in restaurants, but having this quality getting food from a food-truck is AMAZING... and I have to mention the guys who work there, they are so friendly and even if they work fast they were talking to me and made my day with friendliness!!!! Thank you Chickpea-Team!

Pros: Kosun Plate was great (try it with the Cajun and/o, Kefir Brew (MUST TRY), Cookie for dessert (heavenly)

Oh yes! - Edit

Today was my first experience at the Chickpea food truck and it was great. The owners/staff were friendly, chatty and funny. Any dish on the menu can be made vegan or gluten free. And the self-serve sauces (6 options, I think) are vegan and gluten free.

I spoke with a fellow vegan girl in front of me in the line who is a regular patron. She always gets the Falafel Platter which includes chickpea fries. She offered me one of her chickpea fries and it was great.

I had a Pashoot Pita which was delicious. The presentation of the food was enough to get me excited, let alone the size of the portion and the taste! I didn't think to take a photo until I was already half finished.

It's so wonderful to have a healthy fast food vegan option in downtown! I will certainly be going back for more :)

Pros: Friendly staff, Great food, Reasonable price
