Sooooo good!! - Edit
Firstly, lovely friendly staff and great food (although it makes it difficult to choose). I haven’t had French toast since being vegan but this was great. And the bacon was scrummy too. My partner had the full English which was exceptional - in particularly the haggis! Great sweet options too!

Friendly staff, awesome Food - Edit
We ate here with 4 people. Shared a full breakfast and a Bacon, cranberry sandwich with my fiance and had a dessert afterwards. Everything tasted awesome and the staff was super friendly. You order and pay at the counter and they bring everything to your table.

Fabulous coffee and sandwich - Edit
I had a really tasty Kimchi sandwich and an excellent cup of coffee. In the past I have had Reuben sandwiches here but sadly that seems to be off the menu now. Lovely bright room, friendly staff.

The food and vibe here were really nice. I was visiting Edinburgh with some non-vegan friends, and they liked it so much we came back for breakfast every morning.
Read moreThe pistachio cake was a real hit with them. The vanilla pastry was my favorite, but honestly it was just really nice having a cute breakfast place with lots of savory and sweet options. No complaints!
Pros: Food was really good, Both savory and sweet options, Cute and reasonably priced

Best coffee shop - Edit
The staff were lovely when I turned up, they showed me where the quilter areas were and how there are Qr codes I each area. I ordered and paid for my drink which was brought directly to me. There were plenty of plugs for laptops and chargers, and being here to just read is totally normal which feels novel these days. I really loved the Chapeter One Coffee vibe at the front, chill vibe at the back. Will definitely go back

Fully vegan breakfast - Edit
I had the full breakfast and my husband had the French toast, all of it was delicious and came out pretty quickly too. Lots of cake choices, I had a vanilla hazelnut custard Danish which was divine!! The coffee was also beautiful and well made. A nice cosy, chilled spot. I booked a table for a Saturday morning but I didn't need to, it was fairly quiet at 10.30 on a Saturday morning which surprised me! Would definitely recommend 👌

A fantastic little cafe - Edit
We had the vegan breakfast. Generous portions and quite delicious. Good coffee and a lovely pot of roobios tea. Previously I have had a sandwich to go. The range of sandwiches and subs is extensive - I look forward to working my way through them. On a Monday morning the cafe was busy, with a vibrant atmosphere. I would highly recommend.

Chapter One - Edit
Popped in for brunch on my last day in Edinburgh. I went for the French toast, which came with bacun, banana, and a generous serving of maple syrup — a huge portion! Just lacking a little in flavour for me personally. The chai latte was smooth and delicious.
Read moreIt’s a little out of the city centre, and I was hoping parking might be easier, but there’s no parking on the street (it’s a red route).
Overall, a lovely spot with a varied range of vegan food — well worth a visit if you’re nearby.

Chapter One is a super cute restaurant/cafe with a wide selection of crossaints, bagels, sandwiches, plates and cakes.
